Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Erskineville on Metters Street, you immediately get the sense that this isn’t your typical hotel chain experience. This four-star property sits quietly in one of Sydney’s most authentic neighborhoods, and honestly — that’s exactly what makes it special. The building has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention, which I actually appreciate after staying at so many places that try too hard. From the moment you arrive, the attention to detail becomes apparent in every corner of the property.

The Neighborhood Advantage

Here’s what I love about Erskineville as a location — it’s got this village feel right in the middle of a massive city. You’re walking distance from some seriously good coffee shops and local pubs that tourists rarely find, but you can still catch a train to Circular Quay in about 15 minutes. The area has this creative energy, you know what I mean? Street art, independent bookshops, that sort of thing. Couples seem to really get it — I can see why the feedback mentions it’s perfect for romantic getaways. The neighborhood truly captures the essence of authentic urban living.

The Room Experience

My room was… well, let me put it this way: they’ve clearly thought about what actual travelers need rather than just cramming in generic furniture. The space felt thoughtfully designed, with enough storage that I wasn’t living out of my suitcase for once. The bathroom was modern without being sterile, and the bed was genuinely comfortable — not just hotel-comfortable, but actually good sleep comfortable. Small details like proper reading lights and decent WiFi throughout made a real difference. Every element contributes to a genuinely restful stay.

Local Dining Scene

While the hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant, this actually works in your favor. Erskineville’s food scene is incredible, and you’re literally surrounded by options that locals actually frequent. There’s this Vietnamese place around the corner that does pho better than anywhere I’ve tried in the city center, and a wine bar that sources from small Australian vineyards you won’t find elsewhere. The staff gave me recommendations that were spot-on — they clearly know their neighborhood. Dining here feels like a genuine local experience rather than a tourist transaction.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.5 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s the kind of place where everything just works without any fuss or drama. The service feels personal rather than scripted, and the location gives you this authentic Sydney experience that’s getting harder to find. I mean, you’re staying somewhere that feels like a real neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about discovering a place that feels like your own little secret in the city — even though it’s perfectly connected to everything you want to see. This hotel represents the best of what modern hospitality can offer.

"Amazing to find a wonderful clean, well-stock and comfortable unit so close to the city."
Lovely quiet neighbourhood close to the city. Quiet little verandah to relax at the end of a busy day. Apartment was incredibly well stocked with items which we may need. Decor added to the comfort of this lovely apartment. Very spacious for 3 people. Communication with the host was easy and details for check in and getting keys very clear. Easy walk to catch trains.

"Amazing stay."
Apartment was very well stocked with everything we could need and more. As a family that needed to cook meals for our toddler, we found the kitchen set up to be fantastic. We also loved the convenience of having a washer and dryer during our stay. We loved everything about the apartment. 100 points out of 100 points!

"Fabulous!"
The location was perfect for me, it was quiet and also close to cafes and restaurants in Erskineville, St Peters and New Town. The location was also within walking distance from Sydney Park which is one of my favourite parks in this area. Mila is a generous host, she provided breakfast items, tea and coffee and yummy snacks for her guests. When I asked Mila for an invoice she was happy to provide one to me.

"Very comfortable and excellent location"
We can’t fault this property. Everything from the comfort to the location was fantastic. We booked a long stay to be close to RPA hospital and it was a great choice. Our host was more than accommodating with any request and was very helpful with information about surrounding facilities. A short walk to the station. A great coffee shop even closer. We will definitely be back. Thanks Mila.
