Putney Brand New Luxury House Pool & Waterview
Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Sydney, but this Putney spot on Princes Street actually surprised me. You know what caught me first? The pool area – not some tiny afterthought squeezed into a courtyard, but a proper setup where you can actually swim laps if you want. The water views from the main living area are legit too, looking out over the Parramatta River. It’s one of those places where you find yourself just standing by the windows with your morning coffee, watching the occasional kayaker paddle by.
The house itself feels genuinely new – I mean, everything works perfectly, which honestly isn’t always a given even at pricier places. The kitchen has all the gear you’d actually want (decent knives, proper coffee machine, not just some sad little pod thing), and the bedrooms are spacious enough that you’re not tripping over your suitcase. What I really appreciated was the attention to details that matter – good water pressure, blackout curtains that actually block light, and air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a freight train. The whole place has this clean, modern vibe without feeling sterile or hotel-chain generic.
Putney’s interesting because it’s sort of this quiet riverside pocket that most tourists never discover. You’re about 20 minutes from the CBD by train (Putney station is a quick walk), but it feels completely removed from the city chaos. There’s a lovely riverside walk practically at your doorstep – I did it most mornings and barely saw another soul. For groceries and decent coffee, you’ve got options within walking distance, though honestly, the kitchen setup means you might actually want to cook for once instead of eating out every meal. The area gets pretty quiet after dark, which some people love and others might find a bit too peaceful – depends what you’re after, I suppose. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Sydney will tell you is worth mentioning. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax and reset, swim a few laps, maybe read a book by the water – not exactly party central, but sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
