Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Sydney, but Manly Beach Stays hit different – and I mean that in the best way possible. Walking into Unit 203 on South Steyne, you’re literally steps from the beach (I’m talking maybe 30 seconds if you’re moving slow), but here’s what actually surprised me: it doesn’t feel like one of those cramped beachfront boxes you usually get stuck with. The space breathes, you know? Big windows that actually open properly, and when that ocean breeze hits around 3 PM, honestly, you won’t need the air con.
The location is pretty much perfect if you know Manly at all. You’re right on the main strip but high enough up that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds stumbling around at 2 AM – though I’ll be real with you, Friday nights can get a bit lively down there. What I loved is how you can walk to the Corso in about two minutes for your coffee run (there’s this little spot called Barefoot Coffee that locals actually go to), but you can also head the other way toward the quieter end of the beach where the serious swimmers hang out. The ferry wharf is maybe a five-minute walk, which is clutch because – let’s be honest – driving into the city from here is kind of a nightmare, especially on weekends.
The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there, not like those sterile hotel rooms that smell like industrial cleaning products. I mean, it’s clean (really clean), but there’s character to it. The kitchen’s properly stocked if you want to grab groceries from the Woolies down the street, and the couch is actually comfortable enough to crash on after a long beach day. Parking was easier than expected – there’s a spot that comes with the unit, which in Manly is basically gold. The 8.6 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything works well and the location just can’t be beat. You wake up, walk to the beach, grab dinner at one of the restaurants along the Corso, maybe catch the sunset from the balcony with a beer – that’s pretty much the perfect Manly day right there. For a 4-star place, it delivers exactly what you’d want without any of the pretentious stuff that usually comes with beachfront accommodations.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
