Bondi Junction Beauty
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Sydney, and Bondi Junction Beauty on Newland Street is honestly one of those finds that makes you want to keep it to yourself. The thing is, most people rush straight to the beach and miss this whole area – but you’re actually in this perfect sweet spot where you can walk to Bondi Beach in about fifteen minutes, yet you’re right next to Westfield Bondi Junction, which I mean, if you need anything at all, it’s right there.
The apartment itself is on the seventh floor (Unit 44, if you’re keeping track), and when I first walked in, I was struck by how much natural light floods the place. You know what really got me though? The attention to detail – like, the kitchen actually has proper knives, not those sad hotel butter knives, and the coffee machine is one of those fancy ones that doesn’t require a PhD to operate. The bed is ridiculously comfortable, and honestly, after walking around Sydney all day, that matters more than you’d think. Plus, the shower pressure is excellent – I know, I know, boring detail, but you’ll thank me when you’re trying to wash off sunscreen and salt water. The whole space feels more like staying at a friend’s really nice apartment than a typical hotel situation.
What really sets this place apart is the location knowledge you get from staying here. You’re a quick walk to Centennial Park, which is gorgeous for morning runs, and there’s this little laneway behind the building that locals use as a shortcut to Oxford Street. The traffic noise isn’t bad at all – I was worried being so close to the junction, but the windows are solid and you mainly just hear the distant hum of the city. Check-in was surprisingly smooth too; they actually care about getting you settled rather than just handing over keys. The building itself is well-maintained, and parking is straightforward if you’re driving (though honestly, you won’t need a car much from here). I stayed during peak season in February and it never felt chaotic or overcrowded like some of the beachfront places can get. The 9.7 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s that combination of being genuinely comfortable, well-located without being touristy, and having those small touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
