Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked into this place on High Street, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another CBD apartment conversion. But suite #11A actually surprised me, and that new rooftop terrace? Well, that’s where things get interesting.
The KING suite itself is pretty solid – nothing fancy, but the bed’s comfortable and you’ve got proper space to spread out, which is more than I can say for most Sydney CBD stays. The kitchen setup is actually useful (I mean, you can cook real meals here, not just reheat takeaway), and honestly, being able to grab groceries from the Woolworths down on George Street and actually use them was a game-changer for a longer stay. What really caught me off guard was how quiet it is at night – you’d think being right in the thick of the CBD would mean constant noise, but the windows do their job. Though I should mention, if you’re here during the week, you’ll definitely hear the morning rush from High Street around 7:30am.
But here’s the thing – that rooftop terrace is what makes this place worth talking about. I spent way too many evenings up there with a wine from the bottle shop around the corner on Hunter Street, just watching the harbor lights flicker on. You can actually see glimpses of the water between the buildings, and on clear nights (which, let’s be real, aren’t super common in Sydney), you get this pretty decent view toward the Opera House area. The terrace furniture is basic but sturdy, and there’s enough space that you don’t feel cramped even when other guests are up there. During my stay in March, I noticed it got busy around sunset – fair warning if you’re not into sharing the space. The building itself shows its age a bit (the elevator’s slow, and don’t get me started on the lobby), but the location really can’t be beat. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Circular Quay, which means easy ferry rides to Manly when you need to escape the city chaos. Plus, all those tourist spots everyone talks about – the Opera House, Harbour Bridge – they’re right there, but you’re also close enough to the good stuff locals actually use, like the hidden laneway bars off Hunter Street and that excellent Vietnamese place on Liverpool Street that doesn’t even have a proper sign. Parking’s going to cost you extra (welcome to Sydney), but honestly, you won’t need a car from this spot anyway.

Location was fantastic
What could be improved: The bathroom had chipping paint and smelled mouldy, also the shower floods the bathroom floor when using.
Booked for 6 people with the understanding there was 2 double beds. One single and one trundle, the trundle was in fact a sofa bed in the living area, which was uncomfortable to sleep on.
No linen for spare bed was ready, had to hunt for it in boxes located on the front porch along with extra towels – this should have been organised prior to our arrival.
Incredibly noisy neighbours (in 62A) on both Friday and Saturday night, on Saturday they seemed to host a party into the early hours, even after requesting they turned off their music (after midnight).
