Value Suites Green Square Overview
You know what struck me first about Value Suites Green Square? It’s actually in one of those neighborhoods that feels like Sydney’s best-kept secret – not touristy at all, but you’re still ridiculously close to everything that matters. Walking out of the lobby onto O’Riordan Street, you’ve got this weird mix of new apartment towers and old industrial buildings that somehow works. I mean, Green Square station is literally a five-minute walk, which honestly makes getting around the city easier than staying in some of those fancy CBD hotels where you’re fighting crowds just to catch a train.
The suites themselves are proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with a kitchenette shoved in the corner. When I opened the door to my one-bedroom, it felt like someone’s actual home – there’s a full kitchen with a dishwasher (thank god), a separate living area with a decent couch, and the bedroom’s tucked away so you can actually spread out. The whole place has this clean, modern vibe without being sterile, if that makes sense. What really sold me was the washing machine in the unit – I know it sounds boring, but when you’re traveling for more than a few days, having your own laundry setup instead of hunting down a laundromat is pure gold. The Wi-Fi actually works well too, which matters when you’re trying to work from your room or just want to stream something after a long day wandering around.
Here’s the thing about this area that most people don’t realize – you’re walking distance to some genuinely good coffee (there’s this little place called Paramount Coffee Project that locals queue up for), and the Saturday farmers market at nearby Danks Street is incredible. The hotel staff seem to get that they’re not in the tourist bubble, so they’re actually helpful with real recommendations instead of just pointing you toward Circular Quay. Parking’s included, which is rare for Sydney and honestly worth its weight in gold if you’re planning day trips out of the city. The only minor thing is that construction’s still happening around Green Square – it’s a growing area, so you might hear some building noise during weekday mornings, but it dies down pretty quickly. For a 3.5-star place, it punches way above its weight, especially if you want to feel like you’re living in Sydney rather than just visiting it.

Reviews of Value Suites Green Square
Great place to stay, nice facilities and very convenient location. – Jennifer from Australia – 1 July 2025 (8/10)
There was a good variety of breakfast options including fresh fruit – very nice. The room was not large but comfortable with comfy bed and good kitchenette facilities. Nice bathroom.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent location – just a short walk to the train with one stop to the city. Woolworth and eateries also very close.
What could be improved: Little bit more wardrobe space would be nice for a longer stay. We only stayed 2 nights so it was Ok for us.Ideal stop before our international flights – Peter from Australia – 28 June 2025 (9/10)
Great location for quick train access to the airport
Great value for money, left feeling very relaxed. – Andrea from New Zealand – 25 June 2025 (9/10)
Very clean & spacious. Train station a couple of minutes walk on same street. Breakfast & coffee machine are great. It’s nice to be a little out of central town, but a quick train trip to get there. Also great value for money.
What could be improved: There were only two pillows on the double bed, the room had been booked for two, so I would have expected four pillows, none in the cupboard or anywhere. The breakfast coffee area is great, it would still be good to have a few tea bags in the room.Good – Johanna from Australia – 25 June 2025 (7/10)
