Ultimate Apartments Bondi Beach Overview

Look, I’ll be straight with you about Ultimate Apartments Bondi Beach – it’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be fancy, but honestly, that’s exactly what works about it. When I first walked up O’Brien Street (which is actually this quiet residential road that runs parallel to the main Campbell Parade chaos), I was surprised how tucked away it felt. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the beach, but you don’t get the constant stream of backpackers and tourists wandering past your window at all hours. The building itself is pretty standard Australian apartment block style – nothing Instagram-worthy, but clean and functional with that slightly weathered coastal look that everything gets around here.

What I really appreciated was how the apartments are set up for people who actually want to, you know, live a bit while they’re staying. The kitchens are proper sized – not those tiny hotel kitchenettes where you can barely fit a coffee mug. I mean, you can actually cook a real meal, which is clutch because eating out in Bondi every night will absolutely destroy your budget. The living areas have that laid-back Aussie vibe, and most units have decent balconies where you can hear the ocean if the wind’s right. The Wi-Fi was surprisingly solid too, which mattered since I was trying to work remotely some days. One thing though – if you’re a super light sleeper, just know that O’Brien Street does get some early morning traffic from locals heading to work, but it’s nothing compared to staying right on the beach front.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Bondi without being right in the thick of tourist central. You’ve got the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk starting just down the street, and there’s this little laneway that cuts through to Hall Street where all the good coffee spots are – skip the overpriced beach cafes and hit up the places where actual locals grab their morning flat whites. The staff were pretty chill during check-in, very much that relaxed Sydney beach attitude, and they actually gave decent recommendations for things beyond the obvious tourist spots. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare during peak season (basically November through March), but that’s true anywhere in Bondi – at least here you’re on a side street so there’s usually something within a block or two. For the price point and the fact that you get a proper apartment rather than a cramped hotel room, it’s solid value. Just don’t expect luxury finishes or a concierge – this is more like borrowing a friend’s place who happens to live in one of the best beach neighborhoods in Sydney.

Reviews of Ultimate Apartments Bondi Beach

  • Ticked all my boxes – Taane from Australia – 9 July 2025 (9/10)

    Good location with secure parking

What could be improved: Nothing it was all good

  • I would definitely choose this place again – Sandra from Australia – 20 May 2025 (8/10)

Location was excellent, staff friendly and bed clean and comfy, what more could you ask for.

What could be improved: Noise from next apartment in the middle of night

  • Very good – Justin from Australia – 16 March 2025 (8/10)

Good location, within walking distance to Bondi beach area
    Easy check-in after-hours
Plenty of free parking within the complex
    Bed was decent
    There is aircon
    Basic kitchenette

What could be improved: Not a big deal, but FYI the swimming pool is in the middle of the parking lot which is unappealing/awkward, but you're near Bondi Beach, so why would you ever really use it?
It's a budget value stay, so don't expect amenities beyond the basic. I suggest bringing your own shampoo/body wash as they only provide soap.

  • Very good – Mia from Australia – 3 February 2025 (8/10)

    Location, cleanliness, staff

What could be improved: poor wifi, TV blew up on us

  • An affordable oasis – Maria from Australia – 13 January 2025 (8/10)

Reliable and well run place to stay. Have stayed here several times during summer. Ideal if you have a car as parking is free! Good selection of restaurants, nice cafes and groovy bars short walk down Roscoe street, before the beach front. Helpful office team.

  • Bondi in summer is amazing. – Maria from Australia – 13 January 2025 (8/10)

Booked an additional room for a family member traveling from interstate. The Beach, great cafes and lively pub scene close by to enjoy. Good place to stay on a budget. Bus stop to Bondi Junction across the road and Bondi beach just outside.

  • Five minutes walk to Bondi beach passing a FAB French bakery on way there. – Traynor from Ireland – 1 January 2025 (8/10)

    The Manager Liliana was great.

What could be improved: The air con in MY room was old and no remote and I had to stand on a chair to work it so I had to leave it on all the time and it was very noisy. To be fair Liliana offered to move me but only room available had single beds

  • Very good – Mark from Australia – 8 December 2024 (8/10)

Pool was great, privacy and security of property excellent

What could be improved: Some noisy tenants next door with loud bathroom shower facilities

  • Great – Amy from Netherlands – 29 October 2024 (8/10)

    Perfect location!

  • Superb – Madelyn from Australia – 27 October 2024 (9/10)

Great location and affordable for the area!
