You know what really got me about this place? The moment I walked into this one-bedroom on Clapton Place, I actually stopped and stared at the windows. I mean, you hear “views” all the time in Sydney listings, but this is the real deal – you’re literally looking out over the city from the top floor, and it’s honestly pretty spectacular, especially around sunset when the CBD lights start flickering on.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room, which I appreciated after staying in too many cookie-cutter places. The bedroom’s got decent natural light (not always a given in Darlinghurst), and the kitchen’s properly equipped – I’m talking real knives, not those useless hotel butter knives, plus a coffee machine that actually works. The whole setup flows well too, with the living area opening onto that view I mentioned. Small thing, but the shower pressure was surprisingly good, which honestly made my mornings so much better.

Location-wise, you’re right in the thick of Darlinghurst but on a quieter street – Clapton Place doesn’t get the foot traffic that Oxford Street does, so you can actually sleep with the windows cracked. It’s maybe a 12-minute walk to Hyde Park Barracks Museum if you’re into that, or you can just wander down to Oxford Street for dinner and drinks. The whole Kings Cross area is walkable from here, and I found myself cutting through the backstreets to get to the CBD instead of dealing with buses. There’s a decent coffee spot about three doors down (can’t remember the name, but the barista had sleeve tattoos and made killer flat whites), and if you need groceries, there’s a Woolworths on Oxford Street that’s open pretty late. Parking’s street parking only, which can be a bit of a hunt during the day, but honestly most people staying here probably don’t need a car anyway. The 8.4 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect, maybe the building’s a bit older and you can hear your neighbors occasionally, but for a 4-star place in this location with those views? I’d definitely book it again, especially if you want to feel like you’re living in Sydney rather than just visiting it.

  Nice well equipped apartment. Flexible about arrival and me by knowledgeable person who sorted some of the problems like the third bedding despite us having confirmed we needed it. Supply of coffee pods left for us
  
  What could be improved: Booking was a palaver with multiple emails requesting information such as identity, a bond did we need the third bed, despite booking for three and what time were we arriving.

  地點在市中心的地鐵King Cross站旁邊，不過第一天若搭機場線過去會比較麻煩，因為會從Museum站出站，還得走過去約1100m，但期間的旅遊若搭地鐵T4想轉到其他線從King Cross站都是蠻方便的，而且King Cross站旁邊就有Metro跟Coles兩間大超市，各種採買方便。至於要去各個市區景點，我們幾乎都是靠雙腳走遍整個雪梨市區 (步行時間：歌劇院、Circular Quay 30分鐘；植物園20分鐘；QVB、海德公園、聖母主教座堂、雪梨塔15分鐘；達令港、唐人街25分鐘；岩石市集40分鐘)，只有Bondi Beach我們是從頭到尾都是搭地鐵+公車來回，其他時間只有逛到晚上回程才會用地鐵。房間小巧，廚房、餐廳、客廳、臥室皆具，主臥還有更衣間，餐具、廚具、寢具、打掃清潔洗衣用品都很齊全，整個就是有個家的感覺，客廳還有附沙發床，女友覺得烤爐一體煮飯真的很好用(一天約兩餐我們都是自己煮)，附洗脫烘的洗衣機也很乾淨方便。附近有兩間咖啡廳大推(吃早餐推薦)，一間叫Chapter E餐點分量很大、很美味的咖啡廳，走路3分鐘就能到，另一間叫Detour Espresso Bar的咖啡廳，卡布奇諾好喝到翻，走路也是5分鐘而已。房間因為是在頂層4F，所以整個View非常好，站在廚房跟餐廳可以看到植物園及海，早上陽光可以整個灑進來。最後得誇獎一下供宿方(據了解是個集團經營而非個體戶)，雖然只能用Booking.com上面的訊息聯絡，但期間的各種問題他們都能很快回答，大致上也很快能解決，下次有機會再去雪梨會再考慮租這間。
  
  What could be improved: 因為機場線是在Museum站下站，走過去1100m拖行李是真的比較辛苦，建議住這邊從機場過去可以叫Uber，以兩個人來說只比搭大眾運輸系統貴個10-12塊AUD而已，省時省力。其次是這間在4F公寓社區，所以沒有電梯，只能把大件行李硬扛上去，對長者跟力氣小的人來說不大友善。廚具部分是沒有清理乾淨，前住客用過的烤盤都還留有滿滿的油漬，住宿方應該要簡單清潔一下，不然可能會孳生蟑螂，最大的問題應該是浴室，入住的第一天發現浴缸排水孔阻塞，洗澡洗完整個浴缸水快滿出來，雖然及時通報，但派遣的維修工到第三天白天才修好，再來是淋浴的水流蠻小的、熱水供給不太穩定，只有兩個人洗澡勉強可以應付，但再多點人應該就不太行，而馬桶的蓋子被後面的水管擋住所以只能一直蓋著，上廁所只能坐著上用背頂著馬桶蓋，對於男生來說是覺得有點無奈。由於房內地板只是用掃把跟吸塵器大致清理，所以是只能穿鞋無法像飯店一樣脫鞋走動。由於是老公寓重整，所以隔音不大好，不過還好因為身處靜巷是相當安靜，但若隔壁有人開Party、小孩子哭鬧嘻笑就聽得蠻清楚的 (有天晚上聽了隔壁鄰居一整晚的小嬰兒哭鬧聲，另一個晚上對面印度人開Party唱歌唱到半夜…)
