The moment I walked into Unit 4 at 50 Fort Street, I actually stopped mid-step because the ANZAC Bridge view just hits you right in the face – and I mean that in the best possible way. It’s one of those “oh damn” moments where you realize the photos online didn’t do it justice at all. The Green apartment lives up to its name too, with this surprisingly lush outlook that makes you forget you’re in the middle of Sydney’s urban sprawl.

The location is honestly brilliant if you know the area. Fort Street puts you right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to Circular Quay (maybe 15 minutes if you’re not rushing), but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually get some sleep. I stayed here during Vivid season – which, let me tell you, is when every hotel in Sydney jacks up their prices – and watching the bridge light up from the apartment felt like having VIP seats to the whole show. The harbor views change throughout the day too, which sounds cheesy but it’s true. Morning light hits the water differently than evening, and you’ll find yourself just… watching it while you have your coffee.

What I really appreciated were the little things that show someone actually thought about how people live, not just how they sleep. The kitchen is properly set up – I mean, you can actually cook here without wanting to tear your hair out. There’s decent bench space, the fridge isn’t one of those tiny hotel bar fridges, and honestly, after eating out for three days straight, being able to make a simple breakfast was heaven. The whole place feels more like staying at a friend’s apartment than a hotel, which worked perfectly for my week-long stay. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Sydney will tell you is basically a miracle. The building’s pretty quiet – I was worried about street noise, but Fort Street doesn’t get the heavy traffic that some of the main roads do. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend confirming the exact process beforehand since it’s not a traditional hotel setup. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be the Langham, but it’s got everything you need and that view that’s honestly worth the price alone. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re living in Sydney rather than just visiting it, this place gets it right.
