The EVE Hotel Sydney Overview
You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in Sydney, but The EVE Hotel on Baptist Street really caught me off guard – in the best way possible. When I first walked in, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the exterior (it’s tucked away in Redfern, which isn’t exactly where you’d think to look for a luxury hotel), but the lobby immediately made me do a double-take. The design is this perfect blend of industrial Sydney warehouse vibes with seriously sophisticated touches, and I mean that in a way that actually works, not in some try-hard hipster way.
The location is actually brilliant once you get it – Baptist Street is quiet enough that you’re not dealing with city noise, but you’re literally a five-minute walk to Redfern Station, which puts you anywhere in Sydney ridiculously fast. Plus, you’re right in the heart of one of Sydney’s coolest neighborhoods. I spent half my mornings just wandering around the Aboriginal Housing Company building and the street art scene – stuff most tourists never see because they’re stuck in Circular Quay or Darling Harbour. The hotel staff actually knew their neighborhood too, which is rarer than it should be. They pointed me toward this incredible Lebanese place around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise.
What really sold me on The EVE though was how they handled the details. The rooms have these floor-to-ceiling windows that let in amazing light (I had a corner room on the fourth floor – request one if you can), and the bathroom situation is honestly impressive. I’m talking about a rainfall shower that actually has proper water pressure and towels that don’t feel like sandpaper. The bed was one of those where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re drowning in foam. And here’s something weird but important – the air conditioning is whisper quiet, which saved my sanity during those humid February nights. The only minor thing is that the walls are a bit thin, so if you’re next to a chatty neighbor, you might hear more than you’d like. But honestly, I’ve stayed at places charging twice as much with worse soundproofing, so I can’t complain too much. The 8.9 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not quite perfect, but it’s damn close to what you want from a luxury stay in Sydney without the pretentious nonsense you get at some of the harbor hotels.

Reviews of The EVE Hotel Sydney
Exceptional – Charlotte from Australia – 27 May 2025 (10/10)
Beautifully fitted out hotel in very convenient location with access to great restaurants and bars
What could be improved: I chose to stay here instead of our own apartment for the Tesla charger.
The staff couldn’t work the charger so I had to leave the hotel early to charge my car at broadway. It was disappointing and I didn’t need to stay … I stayed for the charger and to get a sleep in and neither happened.Exceptional accommodation, friendly and helpful staff & perfectly situated. – Gary from Australia – 18 May 2025 (10/10)
Vibing location with plenty of cafes and restaurants in close walking distance. Beautifully designed, exceptional interior styling and very comfortable.
Would definitely recommend and stay here again.
What could be improved: Parking, watch the kerbs on the way down the ramp!Worth every cent – Nick from Australia – 29 April 2025 (10/10)
Loved the room that we stayed in. Easily could have stayed for a few more days it was so nice in there. The aesthetics of the hotel were amazing. Restaurants and bars were superb
What could be improved: I didn’t like that there wasn’t a gym/sauna on site.Gorgeous hotel, we would love to stay again – Virginia from Australia – 27 March 2025 (10/10)
Beautifully renovated, stylish design, spacious room – we had the sunset room, cool furnishings, comfortable bed. Staff were super friendly and helpful. 10min walk to the light rail – location may not be as convenient as CBD but a lot more interesting with all the cafes and restaurants all around.
What could be improved: NothingEverything was exceptional from the moment we walked through the front door. – Georgina from Australia – 17 March 2025 (10/10)
The hotel was ideal for a romantic weekend away. Staff were extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The rooftop pool was the highlight followed by dinner in Olympus Dining.
What could be improved: NothingExcellent hotel in an up-and-coming area – Wolter from Australia – 14 March 2025 (9/10)
Super friendly & accomodating staff. Rooftop pool is excellent. Rooms are quiet and have great blackout blinds; very comfy beds.
What could be improved: Some minor startup issues (liftcards not working).Perfect Sydney Luxe Staycation – Jana from Australia – 4 March 2025 (10/10)
The rooftop pool, the staff, the room decor, the restaurant bars and spa near by… everything was fabulous from the moment with parked
Due to my comments above, we will not recommend to our friends. – Gary from Australia – 19 May 2025 (6/10)
Very comfortable room and lovely shower.
What could be improved: Not good value for money! At the price, parking should complementary, not $55!
No bath in the room.
No USB ports for phone charging.Good – Krista from Australia – 10 April 2025 (7/10)
Great location and finishes but service very average had to call to get my room service as took 45mins then left off part of order…. Super expensive room for the service … Could not make Bloody Mary's by the pool Sunday morning… Olympus fantastic for Lunch on Sat had great service and food.
Significant teething issues but massive potential. – Marissa from Australia – 4 April 2025 (6/10)
Very funky hotel with a great vibe. The design and ambience of the hotel is fantastic the staff were super friendly and doing their best to address the many teething issues of the new hotel.
Dislikes – the electronic card system just doesn’t work. At checkin the transaction of activating cards was so slow and then they either didn’t open the lift or the room. We had our keys recut 4 times. Many walks between the lifts and reception!
Our room needed a more thorough ‘builder clean’ to remove the construction dust from surfaces.
Our bar fridge wasn’t turned on and was covered in dust.
They had a coffee machine but no pods for coffee.
The lighting is terrible – so dark and impossible to apply natural looking makeup.
No top sheets on beds just a doona.
