Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “The Atrium – Olympic Park 50m to ACCOR FREE PARK” in the booking results, I thought it was some weird corporate naming situation. But you know what? Once you actually get there on Paddock Street, it all makes sense. The place sits right in the heart of Sydney Olympic Park, and that free parking promise isn’t just marketing fluff – there’s actually a decent-sized lot that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg, which is pretty much a miracle in Sydney.

The hotel itself has this modern, clean vibe without being sterile. I mean, it’s a solid 4-star property, and honestly, that 8.9 rating feels about right. The lobby has this nice atrium setup (hence the name, I guess) with natural light flooding in during the day, and the staff at check-in were genuinely helpful – not just going through the motions. The rooms are well-appointed, nothing groundbreaking but comfortable beds and good water pressure in the shower, which is really what you want after a long day exploring. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re literally surrounded by Olympic Park venues.

Here’s the thing that makes this place special though – the location is absolutely perfect if you’re doing anything at Olympic Park. ANZ Stadium is basically a short walk away, and if you’re heading to concerts or NRL games, you’ll thank yourself for booking here instead of dealing with the train crowds back to the city. The whole precinct comes alive on event days, but even when it’s quiet, there’s something cool about wandering around where the 2000 Olympics happened. Plus, if you need to get into the CBD, the train station is close enough that you’re not stuck out in the suburbs feeling disconnected. I actually found myself using the hotel as a base to explore western Sydney spots that most tourists never see, which was a nice change of pace from the usual harbor-and-beaches routine. The breakfast is decent – not spectacular, but fresh and varied enough to fuel whatever adventure you’ve got planned.

  The beds were soooooo comfortable.

  What could be improved: My only issue was the tv wouldn’t connect to the internet. Which was a bit of a hassle, but definitely not the end of the world. Goat did say he was going to fix it. So I’m sure it won’t be an issue going forwards for others.
