Sydney Premium Studio Renovated 2024

Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of Sydney accommodations over the years, but this little studio on Evans Street genuinely surprised me. You know what struck me first? The renovation work is actually fresh – like, you can still smell that “new place” scent when you walk in, but in a good way. None of that tired hotel room mustiness you get in so many Sydney spots.

The location is honestly perfect if you know the area. Evans Street runs right through Rozelle, which means you’re tucked away from the tourist chaos but still ridiculously close to everything that matters. I mean, you can walk to the Rozelle Markets on Saturday mornings – and trust me, that’s where locals actually go for decent coffee and food, not the overpriced harbor stuff. The light rail stop is maybe a seven-minute walk, which gets you into the city center in about fifteen minutes. What I really appreciated though was how quiet it gets at night. You’re close enough to hear the occasional ferry horn from the harbor, but far enough from Victoria Road that you won’t be dealing with truck noise at 5 AM.

The studio itself feels way more spacious than most Sydney accommodations at this price point. Whoever did the renovation actually thought about how people live – there’s proper counter space in the kitchen area, decent storage (which is honestly rare in Sydney), and the bathroom doesn’t feel like an afterthought. The bed is comfortable, and they’ve got blackout curtains that actually work, which saved my sanity during those brutal summer mornings. I noticed they kept some of the building’s original character too – the window frames and ceiling height give it that classic Sydney terrace feel without the cramped layout.

Parking can be a bit tricky on Evans Street itself, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re driving. Honestly though, I’d recommend just using the public transport from here – it’s that well connected. The 9.5 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed there. It’s not trying to be flashy or Instagram-perfect, it’s just genuinely well-executed accommodation in a spot that locals actually want to live in. You’ll probably find yourself grabbing morning coffee at the little café two streets over instead of hunting for tourist breakfast spots, and that’s exactly the kind of Sydney experience most visitors miss out on.

  This studio is in a great location and has a beautiful environment. Even though I made the reservation quite late, the host replied to my questions enthusiastically, allowing me to check in smoothly. The room was very clean and tidy, just like in the photos, which made me rest very well.
