You know what struck me first about this place? The light. I mean, they call it “Sun Drenched” and honestly, they’re not kidding around – this ground floor studio on Ridge Street catches morning sun beautifully, and that little patio becomes your own private slice of North Sydney without the apartment building price tag.

The location is actually pretty clever if you know the area. Ridge Street is tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the main road noise from Miller Street, but you’re still a genuine five-minute walk to North Sydney station. I’ve stayed in a few places around here, and this spot hits that sweet balance – close enough to everything but not right in the thick of it. The whole North Sydney thing works really well if you’re visiting Sydney but want to avoid the tourist madness of the CBD. You get those killer harbor views from nearby (walk up to Blues Point, trust me), plus you’re connected to everything via train or ferry.

What I really appreciated was how the studio actually feels like a proper space, not some cramped afterthought. The patio – and this is where it gets good – opens right off the main room, so you can leave the doors open and basically double your living space during the day. I spent most mornings out there with coffee, watching the neighborhood wake up. It’s residential but not sleepy, if that makes sense. The setup inside is surprisingly thoughtful too – proper kitchen facilities, not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation. The bathroom’s compact but functional, and honestly, the whole place feels like someone put real thought into how travelers actually live, not just sleep.

Parking can be a bit tricky around here (welcome to Sydney), but there’s street parking if you’re patient, and I think there might be a spot included – worth checking on that. The walk to Milsons Point for the Luna Park ferry is actually lovely, takes about ten minutes through some quiet streets with those classic Sydney terraces. And if you’re into running or walking, you’re basically at the doorstep of some of the best harbor foreshore walks in the city.

One thing I’d mention – North Sydney can feel a bit business-district-quiet on weekends, which is either perfect or slightly too calm depending on what you’re after. But honestly, that’s part of the charm. You get this local residential feel during your stay, then you’re a quick train ride to Circular Quay when you want the full Sydney experience. The studio itself has this relaxed, lived-in quality that makes it easy to settle in – not too polished, not trying too hard, just comfortable and practical. For a 4-star rating, it delivers exactly what you’d hope for without any pretense.

  My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our five-night stay at Sun Drenched. The apartment was beautiful and equipped with all the amenities one could wish for. It was sunny, peaceful, and quiet, conveniently located less than a 10-minute walk from Victoria Cross Metro Station. What impressed us most was the attentive communication from the managers and owners, who consistently checked in to ensure everything was going smoothly. We truly felt at home, as if a caring neighbour was looking after us and ready to assist. It was a wonderful experience, and we will definitely book the same place for our next trip to Sydney.
