Stylish apartment in the heart of Potts Point
You know what struck me first about this place on Springfield Avenue? It’s actually quiet – and I mean properly quiet, not Sydney-apartment-quiet where you’re still hearing traffic at 2am. Unit 29 sits high enough that you get this nice buffer from the street noise, which honestly surprised me given how central Potts Point is. The building itself has that classic Sydney apartment block vibe, nothing fancy from the outside, but once you’re in the unit it’s a completely different story.
The space feels way more generous than most Sydney rentals – there’s actual room to spread out, and whoever designed it gets that people need proper lighting and decent counter space. The kitchen’s one of those that actually works for cooking, not just reheating takeaway, which is rarer than it should be in these inner-city spots. I loved the little touches throughout, like the fact that they’ve got proper blackout curtains (seriously underrated) and the bathroom has decent water pressure. The styling walks that fine line between looking put-together and feeling liveable – you know how some places are so precious you’re afraid to touch anything? This isn’t that.
Location-wise, you’re golden here. Macleay Street’s buzzing restaurant scene is literally a three-minute walk – I’m talking about places like Cho Cho San and Nel, plus all those little wine bars that make Potts Point such a food lover’s dream. The Bourbon’s right there too if you’re into that scene, though fair warning, weekend nights can get pretty lively around there. What I really appreciate is how walkable everything is – you can stroll down to the harbour through the Botanic Gardens, or head the other way into Kings Cross for late-night eats. The train station’s close enough to be convenient but far enough that you’re not dealing with the chaos. Parking’s typical inner-city stuff (read: challenging), but honestly, once you’re here you barely need a car anyway. I’d definitely stay again, especially for that sweet spot between being in the thick of things but still being able to get a decent night’s sleep.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
