I’ll be honest – when I first walked into this York Street apartment, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another CBD rental listing. But you know what? This place actually surprised me. The two-bedroom setup feels way more spacious than most hotel rooms you’ll find in the city center, and there’s something refreshing about having a proper kitchen when you’re tired of eating out every night. The living area has these floor-to-ceiling windows that let in serious natural light, which is honestly a godsend when you’re dealing with Sydney’s sometimes gloomy winter days.

What really sold me on this spot though was the building’s facilities – and I mean, they’re actually good, not just “decent for the price” good. The pool area is on a higher floor with views over the city (you can see glimpses of the harbor if you position yourself right), and it’s rarely crowded during weekday mornings. The gym has newer equipment than most apartment complexes bother with, though it gets pretty busy around 6 PM when all the office workers hit it. The sauna… well, it’s small but it works, and there’s something oddly satisfying about using it after walking around the city all day.

Location-wise, you’re literally in the thick of everything, which is both brilliant and occasionally annoying. York Street can get pretty hectic during rush hour – there’s constant foot traffic and you’ll hear some street noise, especially on weekends when people are bar-hopping. But honestly? Being able to walk to Circular Quay in ten minutes, or duck into the QVB for shopping, or grab late-night food from the places along George Street… it’s worth dealing with a bit of urban buzz. The building itself is well-maintained (good security, reliable lifts), and check-in was surprisingly smooth through their digital system. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if you’re someone who wants to feel like you’re living in Sydney rather than just visiting it. Just pack earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, and maybe avoid the pool area on Saturday afternoons when it gets a bit too social for my taste.
