Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be straight with you about this place – STUNNING SYDNEY HOME 9 isn’t actually a hotel at all, and honestly, that’s probably the best thing about it. Tucked away on Windmill Street in Millers Point, this is more like staying at your Sydney friend’s really nice apartment, except your friend has way better taste in neighborhoods than you probably do. Millers Point is one of those pockets of the CBD that most tourists completely miss, which is their loss because you’re literally a five-minute walk from Circular Quay but without the absolute chaos of people taking selfies every two seconds.
The thing about staying here is that you actually get to live like a local for a bit, you know? I mean, you’ll walk past the same corner café every morning (grab the flat white, trust me), and there’s this little pub down the street where the bartender will remember your order by day three. The building itself has that classic Sydney terrace feel – you can tell it’s been around forever but in a good way, not in a “please don’t touch the walls” way. The rating sits at 7.6 out of 10, which honestly feels about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s comfortable and the location absolutely makes up for any minor quirks. I noticed the shower pressure could be better, and the kitchen setup is a bit cramped if you’re planning to cook elaborate meals, but let’s be real, you’re in Sydney – you’re going to eat out most of the time anyway.
What really gets me about this spot is how quiet it is considering you’re basically in the heart of everything. Windmill Street doesn’t get much through traffic, so you can actually sleep with the windows open (well, most nights). The harbor views aren’t spectacular from every angle, but step outside and you’re practically on top of the best walking routes in the city. That pathway along the harbor towards the Opera House? It starts basically at your doorstep, and early morning walks there before the crowds hit are genuinely magical. Plus – and this is crucial – parking isn’t the nightmare it usually is in the CBD. There’s actually street parking that doesn’t cost your firstborn, which if you’ve ever driven in Sydney, you’ll know is basically winning the lottery. The whole Millers Point area has this village-within-the-city vibe that makes you forget you’re staying in one of Australia’s biggest cities. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself taking a different route home each day just to explore another tiny laneway or stumble across another historic pub you didn’t know existed.

We loved the location and size of the apartment. – Wendy from Australia – 14 September 2024 (8/10)
The location and view
What could be improved: Sparsely fitted out. No side lighting or lamps, cutlery was a bare minimum and clothes dryer not working.Superb – Garrick from Australia – 28 July 2022 (9/10)
Amazing location and great size apartment for a couple. Beautiful views of the harbour bridge and a 5 minute walk to restaurants and markets at the rocks. Conveniently close to public transport options too. Having a digital lock was great too, very nice to not have to worry about having keys to lose.
great Sydney has a lot to offer – Greg from Australia – 27 May 2023 (10/10)

The Rocks location, view of Sydney Bridge, size of unit, cleanliness, amenities and facilities
What could be improved: nilnice apartment. great location. poor value for the money. – Ross from Australia – 9 December 2022 (6/10)
spacious one bedroom apartment in great location. easy access. good washing machine and dryer. lovely deck to sit in.
What could be improved: three steep flights of stairs to get to the room and no lift – absolutely no good for elderly with baggage. No air con or fly screens – so had to leave windows open which let bugs and noise in. I’m always a bit annoyed to be charged a significant cleaning fee and then asked to do my dishes (not that I used any!). bed just ok. bathroom fittings a bit loose. nice apartment but not great value for money.Stay away from this property and read the fine print should you decide to book. – Jesus from United States – 17 May 2024 (1/10)
Location
What could be improved: Bugs, bugs and more bugs. The property is infested with bugs- roaches, mosquitoes and worse, bed bugs. Filthy bathroom and some appliances in state of disrepair. The couch in the living room is stained and filthy. When we first came in, the inside reeked of bug spray and a moldy, damp smell. No A/C and located on the 3rd floor of a very steep walk up apartment.Superb – Greg from Australia – 3 April 2023 (9/10)
Passable – Debra from Australia – 12 November 2022 (5/10)
