Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first saw “STUNNING SYDNEY HOME 11” in the name, I rolled my eyes a bit. But you know what? This place in Millers Point actually surprised me. It’s tucked away on Windmill Street, which is one of those narrow cobblestone lanes that tourists usually walk right past without realizing they’re missing something good. The building itself has that old Sydney sandstone character – I mean, this whole area used to be where the dock workers lived back in the day, so there’s real history soaked into these walls.
What really got me was the location, though. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Circular Quay, but somehow you’ve escaped all that tourist chaos. I could hear the harbour in the distance, especially at night when the ferry horns would drift over, but it wasn’t overwhelming like it can be down closer to the Opera House. The street’s quiet enough that I actually slept with the windows open – something I rarely do in the city. And here’s the thing about Millers Point that most people don’t realize: you’ve got The Hero of Waterloo pub just around the corner (proper old-school Sydney pub, not the touristy kind), and if you walk down to the harbour foreshore, there’s this little park area where locals bring their dogs. It’s where you’ll see actual Sydneysiders, not just people taking selfies.
The place itself is… well, it’s a solid 3-star that doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The rooms are clean and functional – nothing fancy, but honestly, who spends time in their hotel room in Sydney anyway? What I appreciated was that everything worked properly (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), and the shower had decent water pressure. The 7.2 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it won’t disappoint either. Check-in was straightforward, though I’d recommend calling ahead if you’re arriving late since it’s not a massive operation with 24-hour front desk staff. One small thing that actually mattered: there’s decent coffee within walking distance. I’m talking about The Glenmore Hotel’s rooftop – incredible harbour views and proper flat whites, about a three-minute stroll away. The only minor gripe I had was that the walls are a bit thin (old building, what can you do?), so if you’re a light sleeper, pack earplugs. But honestly, for the price point and that location – being able to walk to the Harbour Bridge, the Rocks markets, and catch ferries to Manly without dealing with the madness of staying right in the thick of things – it’s actually a pretty smart choice. Especially if you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re staying in a real Sydney neighbourhood rather than a tourist bubble.

Reviews
Very good – Astrid from Australia – 2 February 2025 (8/10)
Great location , easy walk to the Rocks and Circular Quay. Well equiped with everything you need
What could be improved: Would be nice if there was a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Traffic noise was quite loudVery good overall – Marty from New Zealand – 22 September 2023 (8/10)
What could be improved: Enquired about an ice tray but told to check the kitchen which I had already done. So unable to make ice for duration of our stay which was annoying.
Great Location – Tanya from United Kingdom – 14 January 2023 (7/10)

What could be improved: noisy , no viewFantastic location in a charming, quiet & central location – with a front balcony view of the Harbour Bridge, histor – Nick from Australia – 22 April 2024 (8/10)
Fantastic location in charming Millers Point. Property was spacious, private & in quiet area
What could be improved: Some windows & balcony doors were hard to open, close & lock. No air con or bathroom ventilationGenerally met our needs. – Nick from Australia – 13 February 2023 (7/10)
The location was ideal.
What could be improved: No AC in any room. Ceiling fan in lounge, and a stand fan in the bedroom. Very average. We had a great long weekend and the location of the apartment was very handy to the Rocks area. – Gerard from New Zealand – 15 June 2024 (8/10)
Location was excellent and very handy to both bridge and the rocks area.
Communication from host was excellent and prompt.
What could be improved: Could have been a little cleaner. There is a lot of built up dust in the bathroom in particular.
As it was a bit cooler having an extra blanket available for the bed would have been good as duvet was more a summer weight.
Towel rail in bathroom could do with some attention.Hoste was awesome. Location great. – Craig from New Zealand – 20 February 2025 (5/10)
Good location
What could be improved: Unfortunately there was no Air conditioning. It was very warm in Sydney and as the apartment is on the top floor it was very warm. Bed was very firm.Comfortable stay in a fantastic location – Tylie from Australia – 18 July 2024 (9/10)
Fantastic location – close all the sights and great restaurants, easy and secure access, simple comfortable facilities and a very responsive and accommodating host.
Apartment in the Rocks – Nan from Australia – 2 June 2024 (9/10)
Great position. Had everything we could ask for.
Instructions for operating stuff was clear and concise.
Security was appreciated.
What could be improved: The stairs were difficult for me but that was my fault as I didn't read the description carefully enough. If I had I would have requested a ground floor apartment as I have mobility issues.Beautiful apartment in an unbeatable location. – Kirsten from Australia – 19 April 2024 (10/10)
Amazing location in the Rocks – perfect place to explore that area of the city and walk by the water. Large, comfortable apartment. Easy parking available nearby in evenings/ overnight.
What could be improved: Carrying heavy cases up a lot of stairs, though we were prepared for this from the property details, and used Stasher to store teh largest luggage close by.
