I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address on Lavender Street, I thought “well, that’s oddly specific for McMahons Point,” but then I realized why they chose this exact spot. You’re literally perched right above the harbor, and I mean *right* above it. The views aren’t just stunning (though yes, they definitely live up to the name) – they’re the kind that make you stop mid-conversation and just stare out the window.

What really got me about this place is how it feels like you’re staying in someone’s really nice apartment rather than a typical hotel room. The 4-star rating is spot-on – it’s polished without being stuffy, you know? The whole building has this relaxed vibe that matches the neighborhood perfectly. McMahons Point isn’t touristy at all, which I actually loved – you’ll find yourself walking past locals heading to work or walking their dogs along the foreshore. There’s something refreshing about being in a real Sydney neighborhood instead of some sanitized hotel district. The ferry wharf is literally a 3-minute walk (I timed it), and honestly, taking the ferry across to Circular Quay each morning became my favorite part of the day. Way better than dealing with traffic or crowded trains.

The room itself – well, let’s just say whoever designed it understood that when you have harbor views like this, you don’t mess around with fussy decor. Clean lines, big windows, and everything positioned so you can see the water from basically anywhere in the room. I spent an embarrassing amount of time just watching the ferries come and go, especially in the evening when the Opera House lights up across the water. The bed was actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many nice hotels get this wrong), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that didn’t feel like a gimmick. Parking can be a bit tricky – there’s street parking, but it fills up quickly, so I’d recommend asking about their arrangements when you book. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after dinner time, which meant I slept better than I have in months. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no lengthy spiel about amenities I’ll never use, just friendly staff who clearly knew the area well and gave me actual useful tips about where to grab coffee (there’s a great little place on Blues Point Road) and the best times to catch the harbor at its most photogenic. That 9.1 rating makes total sense when you experience the whole package – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Sydney, it’s just really, really good at what it does.

  What a wonderful location, amazing harbour views and self contained apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Could have had a more streamlined check in and the wifi only works when the TV is on, but otherwise I would highly recommend this accommodation.

  200% stunning harbour view! You can spend whole day on a balcony and welcome some birds. Damien was such a nice host, he was 24/7 to help and reply the messages! Train station and supermarket are in walking distance. Apartment was very clean, beautiful and quiet. Top floor. WiFi was perfect (don’t forget to charge this 5G modem) and you can take it away as WiFi spot when you travel. In the kitchen you can find anything you need for a good stay and cooking. Someday I will definitely come back again!

Cannot recommend this location, accommodation, and experience enough.
  Was super easy to get to, included parking, was simply amazing. I'd love to take annual leave and stay for the week to soak it all in.
  
  What could be improved: I didn't like having to leave this beautiful location with its sea breeze and amazing views. I may have to look at taking annual leave and booking for a week.
