Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The view actually lives up to the name – and that’s saying something in Sydney where “water view” can mean you’re squinting between buildings to catch a glimpse of blue. From 565 Pacific Highway, you’re getting proper harbor views that stretch across to the city skyline, especially gorgeous when the evening light hits those glass towers just right. I mean, St Leonards isn’t exactly where most tourists think to stay, but honestly, that’s part of what makes this spot work so well.
The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room – there’s that lived-in comfort without being messy, if you know what I mean. The kitchen’s properly stocked (not just a sad kettle and some instant coffee), which is clutch since you’re right near the Pacific Highway shops anyway. Speaking of location, you’re basically a five-minute walk to St Leonards station, and the train ride into Circular Quay is maybe fifteen minutes on a good day. The building’s got that early 2000s apartment block vibe – nothing fancy, but solid and quiet enough that you won’t hear your neighbors through the walls. Parking was straightforward too, which honestly surprised me given how tight things can get around here.
What really sold me on the area was stumbling onto all these little Vietnamese and Japanese places tucked along the highway – proper local spots, not tourist traps. The crow flies distance to North Sydney means you can walk to Kirribilli markets on weekends if you’re feeling ambitious, though most people just hop the train. The apartment’s got that perfect balance where you feel connected to the city but you’re not dealing with the Circular Quay crowds every time you step outside. Sure, it’s not boutique hotel fancy, but the 4-star rating feels about right – everything works, it’s clean, comfortable, and that view from the living room window is the kind of thing you’ll find yourself just staring at with your morning coffee. For the price point in Sydney, especially with harbor views, you’re doing pretty well here.

If you are needing to be in the centre of Crows Nest/St Leonards, this is the place for you. – Peter from New Zealand – 3 July 2024 (9/10)
The apartment is conveniently on the border of Crows Nest/St Leonards. There’s an abundance of dining options in close proximity, and the train station to the city is just a 5-minute walk away and when the Metro station opens in August, it will literally be on the doorstep. The apartment features two generous bedrooms, each with its own wardrobe. For the adventurous, the 11th-floor balcony offers a glimpse of the city and stunning views to the west.
What could be improved: If you arrive at night, you might need a light to see the combination for the key. On the last day, when I wanted to use the parking in the basement, I couldn’t get in (this may have been due to my misunderstanding of how the gate worked). It wasn’t a significant issue, and I should have checked it earlier. The hosts also promptly provided a replacement key. Keep in mind that since the apartment is above a busy road, light sleepers may want to use earplugs.Very good – Shaun from Singapore – 12 July 2025 (8/10)
The location is excellent – near eateries and supermarket, 3 mins to Metro
The host is very responsive and provided more coffee cups and replenished shower gel and shampoo promptly upon request.
Instructions for checking in and out were clear.
Apartment amenities were a bit dated though. Otherwise, the place is generally clean with ample supply of dishwashing pods, laundry detergent, etc
