Stunning beachside 2 bedroom by EdgeTrip
So I stumbled across this EdgeTrip place on McKeon Street in Maroubra, and honestly? It’s one of those finds that makes you want to keep quiet about it – but also tell everyone you know. The whole “stunning beachside” thing in the name sounds like typical rental marketing fluff, but they’re actually not overselling it. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Maroubra Beach, and I mean the good part too, not some random rocky outcrop.
The apartment itself is properly set up for people who actually want to stay more than a night. Two bedrooms that don’t feel like afterthoughts, and the kitchen – well, you can actually cook in it without bumping into the fridge every time you turn around. What really got me was the balcony situation. You know how most beach rentals either have no outdoor space or some tiny concrete slab? This one’s got room to actually sit outside with your morning coffee and watch the early surfers do their thing. The locals here are pretty serious about their waves, by the way – Maroubra’s not as touristy as Bondi, so you’re getting more of that authentic Sydney beach vibe without the Instagram crowds.
Parking was surprisingly painless (and free, which is basically a miracle in Sydney), and the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – none of that “meet us at a random café three blocks away” nonsense. The place stays pretty quiet even on weekends, probably because McKeon Street doesn’t get the party crowd that hits some of the other beachside areas. I mean, you’ll hear the occasional group walking back from the pub, but it’s not like you’re trying to sleep above a nightclub. The 8.3 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect, the bathroom could use a refresh and the WiFi gets a bit sketchy during peak hours, but honestly those are pretty minor gripes. What really matters is that you wake up, walk two minutes, and you’re on a proper beach with decent waves and that salty air that makes you remember why you wanted to visit Sydney in the first place. Plus, if you do want to venture into the city, the bus connections are actually reliable – something you can’t say about every beachside spot around here.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
