The whole “Stunning 4BR Waterfront House” thing sounds like typical rental marketing fluff, but when you actually get there – it’s one of those rare times the description undersells the reality. The house sits right on the water in South Coogee, which if you know Sydney at all, is that sweet spot between the chaos of Bondi and the more residential vibe of Maroubra. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Coogee Beach, but far enough from the backpacker crowds that you can actually hear the waves at night instead of drunk tourists.

The pool is what sold me initially – not massive, but perfectly sized for morning laps or evening drinks with that backdrop of the bay stretching out forever. What I didn’t expect was how thoughtfully everything’s laid out inside. The four bedrooms actually feel distinct (you know how some rental houses just feel like cookie-cutter boxes?), and the main living area has these huge windows that basically turn the whole room into a viewing deck. I spent way too much time just watching the ferry traffic and the occasional whale during migration season. The kitchen’s properly equipped too – I mean, you can actually cook without hunting for a decent knife or wondering if that pan will give you tetanus.
