Stunning 3 Bedroom Terrace House in Vibrant Area
You know what caught me off guard about this place? Walking up to 107 Barcom Avenue, I was expecting just another cramped Sydney rental – but honestly, this three-bedroom terrace house has some serious character. The street itself is pretty typical Darlinghurst, tree-lined and quiet enough that you’re not dealing with the crazy Oxford Street chaos, but you’re still right in the thick of things.
The house actually feels like someone’s home rather than a sterile hotel setup, which I mean, can be hit or miss depending on what you’re after. The bedrooms are properly sized – not those shoebox situations you sometimes get in the inner city – and there’s this lovely morning light that comes through the front windows. I spent most of my time in the main living area, which opens up nicely and has enough space for our group to spread out without feeling cramped. The kitchen’s well-stocked too, which was perfect since we grabbed fresh stuff from the Saturday markets at Paddington (just a quick walk down Oxford Street).
What really works about the location is that you’re sort of positioned between all the good stuff. Crown Street’s amazing coffee and restaurant strip is literally around the corner – I probably hit up Single O coffee three times in two days. Kings Cross is close enough for late-night adventures, but far enough that you’re not hearing the weekend madness. And honestly, getting into the CBD is dead easy from here – you can walk to Museum Station in about ten minutes, or catch a bus right on Oxford Street. The neighborhood has this great mix of locals and visitors, so it doesn’t feel touristy, but there’s still plenty happening. I noticed the area gets pretty lively on Friday and Saturday nights (you’ll hear people walking by until maybe 1 AM), but it’s not disruptive – just the normal sounds of a vibrant area.
The host was actually responsive when we had a minor issue with the hot water, and check-in was straightforward. Parking’s probably the one thing to think about – it’s street parking, and while we found spots, it required a bit of circling during busy times. That 9.3 rating makes sense to me; it’s not fancy or over-the-top, but everything works well and the location is genuinely fantastic for exploring Sydney. If you’re the type who wants to experience the city like a local rather than being stuck in some generic hotel district, this place hits the sweet spot.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
