Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places around Sydney, but this spot on Stockyard Boulevard actually surprised me – and that’s saying something for a 4-star property. The name “Stadium View Oasis” sounds a bit cheesy, sure, but honestly? They’re not overselling it. You can literally see ANZ Stadium from the windows, which is pretty cool if you’re into that sort of thing (or if there’s a game on and you want to feel the energy without dealing with the crowds).

The two-bedroom setup is what really sold me, though. I mean, you get proper space to spread out – not those cramped hotel rooms where you’re tripping over your suitcase. The kitchen’s actually functional too, which matters when you’re staying more than a night or two. And can we talk about the free parking? In Sydney? That’s like finding a unicorn. Most places in the Olympic Park area will charge you $25-30 a night just to park your car, so this alone probably saves you enough to justify the stay. The parking’s secure too – I never felt weird leaving my car overnight, even with bags visible.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. You’d think being near the stadium would mean constant noise, but it’s actually pretty peaceful once events wrap up. The trains run pretty regularly from Olympic Park station (it’s maybe a 7-minute walk), so getting into the city is dead easy – takes about 45 minutes to Central, which beats driving through Sydney traffic any day. The staff seemed to actually know the area well too, not just the touristy stuff. When I asked about decent coffee nearby, they pointed me toward this little place on Australia Avenue that locals actually use, not some overpriced chain.

The apartment itself felt lived-in in a good way – like someone actually thought about what you’d need. Proper blackout curtains (game-changer for jet lag), decent water pressure, and the Wi-Fi didn’t drop every five minutes like some places I’ve stayed. There’s a Woolworths pretty close by for groceries, and if you’re driving, you’re honestly well-positioned to get anywhere in Sydney without dealing with city parking nightmares. I stayed during State of Origin week, and while the area got busy during game day, it wasn’t chaotic – more like controlled excitement. The 9.5 rating makes sense when you add it all up. It’s not trying to be the Shangri-La, but for what it is – a solid, well-located place with actual amenities that matter – it delivers big time.
