The moment you step out of the elevator on the third floor, you can already hear the ocean – not just waves, but that distinct Manly sound where the harbour meets the Pacific. I mean, the address says Sydney Road, which honestly doesn’t sound that impressive until you realize this particular stretch puts you right in the sweet spot between Manly Beach and the ferry wharf.
The views are actually ridiculous – and I don’t throw that word around lightly. From the living area, you’re looking straight out over the harbour toward the city skyline, but walk to the other side and there’s the full Pacific spread. The penthouse setup means you get these floor-to-ceiling windows that basically turn the whole place into a viewing platform. I spent way too much time just watching the ferries chug back and forth to Circular Quay, and honestly, it never got old. The space itself feels properly spacious (not just real estate spacious, if you know what I mean) – you could actually have people over without everyone bumping into each other, which is rare for Sydney accommodation.
What really works about the location is how walkable everything is. The Corso is literally a two-minute stroll, so you’ve got that whole pedestrian strip with cafes and shops, but you’re far enough up Sydney Road that you don’t get the weekend crowds stumbling past your windows. The ferry wharf is maybe five minutes on foot – I timed it because I’m obsessive like that – which makes getting into the city almost enjoyable instead of the usual Sydney transport nightmare. Beach access is just as easy; you can see Manly Beach from the penthouse, and it’s basically a straight shot down. The only minor thing is parking – well, it’s Manly, so street parking can be a bit of a hunt during peak times, but there are options if you’re willing to walk a block or two.
The whole setup feels like someone actually lives here rather than your typical hotel sterility. The kitchen’s properly equipped (not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation), which matters if you’re staying more than a night or two. And the building itself is solid – I didn’t hear neighbors, traffic noise stays pretty minimal even though you’re on a main road, and the elevator works smoothly. Check-in was straightforward, no fuss. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s not trying to be the Shangri-La, but it delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises. That 9 rating from other guests makes sense – it’s the kind of place where everything just works, the views genuinely deliver, and you end up spending more time on the balcony than you planned because, honestly, why wouldn’t you?

The apartment was beautiful!! They thought of everything. Lovely to have a coffee machine with a milk frother 😄 the kids loved the card games! The outside space was very generous also.
What could be improved: If you have someone using the sofa bed in the living room there is only sheer curtains so it gets bright in the morning, but the actual bedrooms were perfect.
