You know what caught me off guard about this place? The sheer amount of space you get for being so close to the airport. I mean, when I first pulled up to 7 Garrigarrang Avenue, I honestly wasn’t expecting much – most airport accommodation feels like an afterthought. But this apartment on the 8th floor actually delivers on that “spacious” promise in the name.

The location is honestly pretty clever if you think about it. You’re literally minutes from Sydney Airport (I timed it – about 8 minutes by car), but you’re also this close to Ramsgate Beach, which most visitors don’t even know exists. It’s one of those quiet bayside spots where locals go when they want to avoid the Bondi crowds. The apartment faces the right direction too, so you get these glimpses of the water if you crane your neck a bit from the windows. The building itself is modern enough – decent lift, secure entry, all that stuff you’d expect from a 4-star setup.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve set it up for actual living, not just crashing for a night. The kitchen is properly equipped (I actually cooked breakfast there, which felt weird but good), and there’s enough room to spread out your luggage without feeling like you’re playing Tetris. The bed was comfortable – I’m picky about mattresses and this one didn’t leave me grumpy in the morning. Honestly, the whole place felt more like borrowing someone’s well-appointed apartment than staying in typical hotel accommodation. Parking was straightforward too, which if you’ve ever tried to park around Sydney Airport, you’ll know is worth mentioning.

The area gets a bit of plane noise – I mean, you’re near the airport, so that’s not exactly shocking – but it’s not constant, and it actually stops being noticeable after the first night. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet, mostly residential with a few local cafes within walking distance. There’s this little strip along Rocky Point Road where you can grab decent coffee and groceries without having to venture into the city. The beach is about a 10-minute walk, and it’s genuinely lovely for an early morning stroll or if you want to decompress after a long flight.

I’d say this works best if you’re looking for space to breathe and don’t need to be right in the CBD. The transport links are solid – you can catch the train into the city easily enough, but honestly, sometimes it’s nice to be slightly removed from all that intensity. The 8.5 rating feels about right; it’s not luxury, but it’s thoughtfully done and way more comfortable than your typical airport hotel. If you’re flying in or out of Sydney and want somewhere that feels like home base rather than just a place to sleep, this actually makes a lot of sense.

  Very clean. Quiet. Comfortable, good sized bedrooms. 2 Bath. Full kitchen with miele products. Air con. Washer and dryer.. Safe undercover parking with lift access a few steps away. Excellent restaurants on Rocky Point Road – Greek, Italian etc. (Walking distance for the extra fit). Many botique dress shops for the next visit. Thank you David for a well kept modern apartment.   Everything was as expected or better. The booking was clean and well stocked. The host was very patient, accommodating and promptly responded to questions & requests. We were able to relax and enjoy much needed time with our grandchildren. Will definitely book here again for our next visit.
  Side note: We picked up the keys early, which created tension between previous guest and host. It was no fault of the host. We take full responsibility for the confusion and would like the host to copy our review with explanation to the previous guests. Our most sincere apologies. This was our first for booking online.

  What could be improved: Lock box is located in an awkward spot – it would be very difficult for older people to access – especially at night. We were told the parking space was located in B2 but it was poorly explained and the space was difficult to find! When we vacated the apartment we returned the key to the lock box as requested then left. I received a phone call + text messages from David saying we didn’t return the keys and that we were required to pay $350 as the cleaner had gone to the lock box and it was empty!! He did not take my word that we had in fact returned the key! Some time later he sent me a message to say that the following tenant had in fact removed the key from the lock box at about 10.40am (even though checkin time is 3pm)! He did apologise but I did not appreciate being treated like a liar.

  What could be improved: The beds were so hard very very uncomfortable.
  The sun 🌞 streams through the glass in the lounge area so hot 🔥 🥵 no blinds to close unusable in the afternoon, horrible. One key for 2 couples took away your independence, terrible. One undercover car park for a two couples booking putting the second vehicle on the street in a council parking space, and hoping you didn't get a parking fine. Travel size ironing board not a proper ironing board, really.!!
