Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? It’s actually tucked away enough that you feel like you’ve discovered something special, but you’re still right in the thick of Surry Hills – which, honestly, is exactly what you want. The private balcony thing isn’t just marketing fluff either; I mean, you get this little outdoor space that feels surprisingly peaceful given you’re in one of Sydney’s buzziest neighborhoods.
The location is pretty brilliant if you know the area. You’re walking distance to Crown Street’s cafe strip (and trust me, you’ll want to hit up Reuben Hills for coffee), plus you can actually stroll to Central Station without breaking a sweat. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Surry Hills can get pretty lively, but this spot seems to dodge most of the noise. The building itself has that renovated warehouse vibe that works so well in this part of town, and the balcony overlooks some of those charming terraced houses that make the neighborhood feel more residential than touristy.
Inside, it’s clear someone put thought into the details rather than just throwing together another rental. The kitchen is actually functional (not always a given with these places), and there’s decent storage space – something you don’t realize you need until you’re living out of a suitcase. The bathroom’s modern without being sterile, and honestly, the bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d wrestled with it all night. I will say the air conditioning works well, which matters more than you’d think during Sydney’s summer months. The whole setup feels like someone’s well-designed apartment rather than a hotel room, which makes sense given the four-star rating and the solid 8/10 from other guests.
What really sells this place, though, is how it lets you experience Surry Hills like a local rather than a tourist. You’re close enough to walk to the Saturday markets at Orange Grove, and you can explore all those little laneway bars and galleries without having to trek back to some generic hotel district. The balcony becomes your morning coffee spot and evening wine perch – there’s something satisfying about watching the neighborhood come alive below you. Parking can be a bit of a hunt (it’s Surry Hills, after all), but the trade-off is worth it for the location. Check-in was smooth, and the whole experience felt more like borrowing a friend’s cool apartment than staying in typical accommodation.

Reviews
Comfortable and fully contained in great location. – Jack from Australia – 26 June 2025 (8/10)
Completely self contained including washing machine, complete kitchen, etc, perfect location for a quiet base in the middle of the party district. Very easy check in/out process
What could be improved: Many extremely minor fittings and features issues that are functional but due for an upgradeGreat location, tidy apartment, friendly host and all that we needed. – Loren from New Zealand – 2 December 2023 (8/10)
Great location. really easy check in with great instructions which included photos for reference. Host was friendly and quick and easy to communicate with.
What could be improved: Although tidy, the place could’ve had a more thorough clean. Carpet in the bedroom could do with a deep clean or be replaced as could the duvet on the bed.
