Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places around Sydney CBD, but this little gem on High Street actually surprised me. The “Perfect Holiday Home with Private Rooftop” might sound like marketing fluff, but honestly? The rooftop bit is legit and worth the stay alone. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Circular Quay – I mean, you can hear the ferry horns in the morning, which is either charming or slightly annoying depending on how you feel about early wake-ups.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to make a 4-star place feel more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s apartment than some sterile hotel room. The space has this lived-in quality without being worn down, you know? And that rooftop – well, it’s not huge, but you’ve got these sneaky harbor glimpses between the buildings, and honestly, watching the sunset with a bottle of wine from the IGA down the street became my daily ritual. The neighbors are mostly office buildings, so it gets pretty quiet after 6 PM, which is perfect if you’re trying to decompress after dealing with the tourist crowds at the Opera House (which, by the way, is about a 10-minute walk if you cut through the back streets).
The location is actually brilliant for anyone who wants to be in the thick of things without paying those insane harbor-view hotel prices. You’re close enough to everything that matters – the Botanic Gardens for morning runs, Martin Place for decent coffee, and if you’re into the bar scene, the rooftop puts you within stumbling distance of some solid spots in the Rocks. I will say, parking can be a bit of a nightmare during the week (street parking is mostly two-hour limits), but there’s a decent-sized paid lot about three blocks away that won’t completely destroy your budget. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that overly formal front desk theater you get at the chain places. The whole experience feels more authentic somehow, like you’re getting a genuine taste of what it’s like to actually live in Sydney rather than just passing through it. Sure, it’s not going to blow your mind with fancy amenities, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want – a comfortable base with a killer view and a location that makes you feel like a temporary local instead of just another tourist.

The location was beautiful and peaceful. The washer and dryer actually worked(we had problems with other properties on this while vacationing around Australia), and a lot of what Sydney had to offer was all very close. The owners were very nice also, I felt very welcomed and comfortable. It was all so very cosy.
