Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of Olympic Park accommodations, and this place actually surprised me. The New Olympic Park 2 bedroom condo sits right on Paddock Street – you know, that quiet stretch just off the main drag where you can actually hear yourself think. When I first walked in, honestly, it felt more like visiting a friend’s well-appointed apartment than checking into some sterile hotel room.

The thing that struck me immediately was how they’ve managed to make a 4-star place feel lived-in without being worn down. I mean, the kitchen’s got everything you’d actually want to use (not just a sad mini-fridge and a coffee maker), and the bedrooms are spacious enough that you’re not bumping into your travel companion every five minutes. The pool area – well, it’s nothing fancy, but it’s clean and surprisingly quiet during weekday mornings. I spent a good hour there one Tuesday just enjoying the fact that I wasn’t fighting crowds. The gym’s decent too, though if you’re serious about lifting, you might want to hit the bigger facilities at the nearby sports complex.

Here’s what I really appreciated: the parking situation is sorted, which anyone who’s driven around Olympic Park during event season will tell you is worth its weight in gold. You’re close enough to walk to ANZ Stadium (or whatever they’re calling it these days) without the hassle of event parking fees, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the post-game chaos right outside your window. The train station’s about a 10-minute walk – not the most scenic stroll, but totally manageable, and honestly, the direct line into the city makes this spot more connected than a lot of inner-city hotels. Plus, there’s something oddly peaceful about the area once the crowds disperse. You get these moments, especially in the evenings, where the whole precinct feels like a well-planned neighborhood rather than just a sports venue.

The 8.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s solidly above average without trying to be something it’s not. I’d probably stay here again, especially if I had friends or family visiting who wanted space to spread out. The two-bedroom setup works brilliantly for that, and having a proper living area means you’re not all cramped together after a long day exploring Sydney.

  The location is perfect, right near the stadiums and good coffee/breakfast. Uber eats to the foyer was perfect. Free parking, great value for money, spacious and clean.
  
  What could be improved: The roads were blocked off and it was difficult to get to where we needed to go to get the keys and get to the front door etc. Not the hosts obviously, just unfortunate.
