You know what? I’ve walked past this place on Central Avenue probably fifty times before actually staying here, and honestly, I wish I’d booked it sooner. The name “manlybeachonline.com713 At The Beach” is admittedly a bit clunky – sounds more like a website URL than a hotel name – but don’t let that put you off because the location is absolutely spot-on. You’re literally a two-minute shuffle to the sand, and I mean that in flip-flops-and-beach-towel time, not some marketing department’s version of “close to the beach.”

The building itself sits right in that sweet spot where you get the beachside vibe without the chaos of the main Corso strip. I actually loved this because you can hear the waves at night (especially from the upper floors), but you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds stumbling past your window at 2 AM. The staff seem to get that most people here are either beach-bound or just back from the water – check-in was refreshingly laid-back, and they didn’t bat an eye when I dripped pool water through the lobby. Speaking of which, the pool area is nothing fancy, but it does the job when the surf’s too rough or you just want to float without sand getting everywhere. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – clean, comfortable beds, decent bathroom with good water pressure (crucial after a day of salt and sunscreen). Air conditioning works well, which matters more than you’d think during those sticky Sydney summer nights.

What really sold me on this place was the little stuff that shows they understand their guests. There’s actually space to hang wet swimwear, power points positioned where you’d actually use them, and the balconies – well, not every room has beach views, but even the ones facing inland give you glimpses of the harbor if you crane your neck just right. Parking can be a bit of a dance, especially on weekends, but there’s a spot for guests and street parking isn’t impossible if you’re patient. The breakfast setup is decent enough, though honestly, you’re better off grabbing a proper coffee from one of the cafés along the beachfront – there’s this little place about three doors down that does an excellent flat white and pastries that’ll fuel your morning beach walk perfectly. The 8.2 rating feels about right to me – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it nails what it sets out to do. If you’re here for the beach, the ferry rides across to Circular Quay, and that whole relaxed Manly atmosphere, this spot puts you right in the middle of it all without breaking the bank or dealing with the sterile hotel chain experience.

  location .. a short wander to the beach, a 5 minute walk to the ferry port made it the perfect location. clean comfortable property. host answers any requests quickly and always helpful.

  The apartment was very central which was great, it was easy to get to the beach and the ferry. The host was helpful and everything was easy.
  
  What could be improved: There were some very noisy building works going on in the car park below our apartment which was unfortunate, it wasn't a problem as we were out and about sight seeing, but we would not have been able to stay in the apartment during the day. Its unlikely to affect other visitors.

  The location was good, the bed was comfortable, the unit was well designed for short stays, decent size refrigerator and well equipped kitchenette, the most marvellous views of the beach and the harbour from the building, it was central to everything, the native birdlife was lovely, lift access and parking was good, communications with our hostess were good.
  
  What could be improved: I had difficulty getting the keys initially due to my unfamiliarity with the area (identifying the building) and being at night and raining plus nowhere to park the car in the street, thankfully some helpful passersby got me sorted out. It would have been nice to enjoy the barbecue facility on level 9 but it was very dirty looking, so we changed our plans. The lack of barbecue was made up for by the views. The toilet in the bathroom was a wee bit cramped.
