You know what struck me first about Luxe Central Studio 2? It’s actually got this whole sleek, modern vibe going on that feels way more upscale than what you’d expect from a Maroubra address. I mean, when most people think of staying near Randwick, they’re probably picturing something a bit more… well, basic. But this place genuinely surprised me.

The location on Boyce Road is honestly pretty clever – you’re close enough to Randwick that getting to the university or racecourse is a breeze, but you’re still in Maroubra which means you’ve got that whole beachside energy without the Bondi crowds and prices. The studio itself has this minimalist thing down pat, with clean lines and actually decent lighting (thank god, because so many places get that wrong). What I really appreciated was how they’ve maximized the space without making it feel cramped – there’s this flow to how everything’s arranged that just works. The kitchen setup is surprisingly functional too, which matters if you’re staying more than a couple nights and don’t want to eat out constantly.

Here’s the thing though – and I’m being honest here – the soundproofing could be better. It’s not terrible, but if you’re a light sleeper, you might notice some street noise in the early morning. That said, the bed is actually comfortable (I’ve stayed in plenty of four-star places where it wasn’t), and the bathroom has proper water pressure, which is more than I can say for half the places I’ve booked lately. The whole building feels well-maintained, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward waiting around while they figure out their system.

What really sells this place for me is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re a short walk to Maroubra Beach, which honestly has some of the best surf breaks in Sydney without all the tourist chaos. There’s a decent coffee spot just down the road that locals actually use, and if you need groceries or whatever, you’re not stuck taking expensive rides everywhere. The bus connections are solid too – I could get into the city or over to Coogee pretty easily. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere that matters, not just some random accommodation that could be anywhere. Perfect for someone who wants to be near Randwick but also wants to actually experience Sydney beyond just the obvious tourist strips.
