Hotel Description

I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Leafy Inner City Apartment” in the name, I was expecting some generic marketing fluff, but this place in Camperdown actually lives up to it. You know how Sydney’s inner west has this perfect mix of being close to everything but still feeling like you can breathe? That’s exactly what you get here. The apartment sits in one of those tree-lined streets where you can actually hear birds in the morning instead of just traffic, which is pretty rare when you’re this close to the city center.

What really struck me was how the owners clearly get what travelers need – I mean, it’s not just about having a nice place to crash, right? The apartment feels properly lived-in (in a good way), with those little touches that make you realize someone actually thought about your stay. The kitchen’s got everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the IGA down the street, and honestly, being able to make coffee the way you like it in the morning is underrated when you’re staying somewhere new. The wifi actually works properly too, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places mess this up. I was working from there for a few days and never had issues with calls dropping or anything.

Location-wise, you’re about a 10-minute walk to Newtown’s King Street – and trust me, that’s where you want to be for dinner and drinks. The curry places along there are incredible, and if you’re into live music, the venues are all within stumbling distance. But here’s the thing that locals know: Camperdown’s got its own little pocket of good stuff that tourists usually miss. There’s this excellent Vietnamese place on Parramatta Road that does the best pho, and the Saturday morning farmers market at the uni is worth getting up early for. The RPA hospital’s right there too, which sounds weird to mention, but it actually means the area’s really well-connected by public transport. You can get to Central Station in about 15 minutes, or if you’re feeling adventurous, it’s a decent bike ride into the CBD through the park.

The only minor thing I’d mention is that Parramatta Road can get pretty busy during peak hours – it’s not exactly noisy inside, but you’ll definitely know you’re in the city. And parking can be a bit of a dance if you’ve got a car, though there’s usually something within a block or two. But honestly, you probably won’t need a car much anyway. The whole area’s got this village-y feel where you end up walking to most things, and when you need to go further, the buses are pretty reliable. The 8.6 rating makes sense – it’s one of those places that just works without trying too hard, and you leave feeling like you actually stayed somewhere with character rather than just another generic rental.

Reviews

  • Felt like home away – Veronika from United Kingdom – 29 May 2025 (10/10)

We stayed for 8 nights and felt like home. All the facilities are fantastic, washing machine and tumble dryer were extra helpful and kitchen is equipped very well and therefore cooking is easy. Rooms are very spacious and there is lot of storage. You can also access great swimming pool that is in the building as well as gym. Location was good as well. Fantastic stay

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • A very stylish apartment with excellent transport connections to the rest of Sydney. Very comfortable and well equipped. – Pauline from United Kingdom – 18 October 2024 (10/10)

Stylish and very well equipped – and the beds were very comfortable!

What could be improved: There was nothing we didn’t like, apart from the blinds in the master bedroom not working, which for us was only a minor inconvenience.

  • Superb – Daniel from Australia – 15 March 2023 (9/10)

    spacious, well-provisioned and great location

  • Stay was good host accepted the request for late checkout as we travelled with kids. – Pardeep from India – 27 June 2025 (10/10)

Location was good with basic pool for swimming and gym access too.

  • Luxurious and comfortable – Chandra from Australia – 6 April 2025 (10/10)

I loved the big terrace, and spacious rooms. The house is fully equipped with everything you may possibly need during your stay.

  • Passable – Bowen from Australia – 19 May 2025 (5/10)

What could be improved: Key got stuck in lock, you have to hold the barrel in to get the key out. Needs a deep clean, marks on almost every wall. Why supply a coffee machine but no pods to go with it? It's also weird that the cleaner leave random leftovers from other guests.

  • A weeks stay – Gardner from Australia – 24 June 2023 (7/10)

Locarion was good, liked the outside BBQ
    And eating area .
Convenient being on the ground floor..
Grate being near bus stopps .

What could be improved: Alocated parking was taken by a car that had been there for a very long time ,leaving my car on the street with a small part not in a 2 hour parking zone.
Toilet not clean under the bowl lip and kitchen sink not clean where the sink meats the bench .

Banging noise all night, something to do with the water pipes .
Electric blinds in lounge on their way out, struggling to go up and down .

  • good stay in a location which was handy for public transport and decent walking. – Sandra from United Kingdom – 23 October 2023 (7/10)

the apartment was spacious and near decent grocery shopping.

What could be improved: the air conditioning was so difficult to set up the we couldn't use it at all! all of the instructions were on the unit. it would have been much more helpful to have written instructions, especially when we come from a country where we dont need air conditioning.

  • Lovely spacious apartment in a nice area, but improvements needed – Siobhan from Ireland – 8 July 2023 (6/10)

Lovely location, very close to Newtown and Annandale which both of loads of shops and places to eat. The apartment was nice and spacious with 2 big bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable and clean.

What could be improved: Some of the appliances need attention and bulbs need replacing. The kitchen and kitchen utensils could have been cleaner. It looks like someone recently lived in the apartment and moved out and it needs a good deep clean. We could not figure out how to access the car park for parking we there was no instructions. There is a gate blocking the entrance that you need a code to access. Street parking only allows free parking for 2 hours so it was frustrating that we couldn’t access the car park. The complex is very big and includes multiple apartment blocks so an information book would be helpful so guests can easily locate the pool, gym, car park and where to dispose of rubbish etc.

  • Exceptional – Maikel from Netherlands – 14 February 2025 (10/10)

Mooie appartement heeft alle faciliteiten met 15 min ben je in de stad.
