Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to 32 Wright Street, I wasn’t expecting much from what’s basically a granny flat. But you know what? This little two-bedroom setup actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked away in a quiet residential street, and while it might not have the fancy lobby of some chain hotel, there’s something genuinely comfortable about staying somewhere that feels like a real home rather than a sterile room.
The location is honestly the star here – I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Hurstville train station, which is huge if you’re planning to explore Sydney without dealing with parking nightmares in the city. The Westfield shopping center is right there too, and I found myself grabbing coffee and groceries way more easily than I expected. What really struck me was how residential the area feels; you get these glimpses of actual Sydney suburban life, kids riding bikes, neighbors chatting over fences – it’s refreshing after staying in touristy areas. The apartment itself is clean and functional, though don’t expect luxury finishes or anything. The beds are comfortable enough (I’m picky about mattresses), and having two bedrooms worked perfectly for our small group. The kitchen has everything you need for basic cooking, which saved us a ton on eating out every meal.
Here’s the thing about staying in Hurstville – it’s not glamorous, but it’s real Sydney. You’re about 30 minutes by train to Central Station, so getting to the Opera House or Circular Quay is totally doable for day trips. The neighborhood has this great mix of cultures too; there’s excellent Asian food everywhere, and the local fruit markets are actually better than what you’ll find in the touristy spots. Parking was surprisingly easy (free street parking), and the whole area feels safe for walking around, even at night. The host was pretty responsive when we had questions about the heating system, and check-in was straightforward with clear instructions. I will say the walls are a bit thin – we could hear the neighbors occasionally – but nothing that kept us awake. For a 3-star place with a 7.5 rating, it delivers exactly what you’d expect: clean, comfortable, and practical without any frills. If you’re looking for a pool or room service, this isn’t your spot, but if you want an authentic base for exploring Sydney without paying city-center prices, it’s actually a solid choice.

What could be improved: The Wifi connection and heater for shower

Quiet neighbourhood (we came there on school holidays, so less traffic around the area)
What could be improved: We had to look for parking, although the property had a gated parking space, but we were not allowed to park inside.
Had some issues on our first night stay. We missed our dinner somewhere as we could not use the keys to unlock the doors, both the glassed and screen doors. Had to call the owner and the caretaker and waited long till past 10pm to have a repairman come over to fix temporarily one of the doors.
The owner is quick to response though, to my "issues". Overall, property was clean and quiet and good for small families.
We stayed there (hubby and I) and our 3 adult children but most of the day, we were out and about somewhere sightseeing.
Parking was just the main thing that didn't meet my expectation. Overall, we had a great time.Very good – Srinivas from New Zealand – 24 March 2024 (8/10)

How close it was to the hospital
What could be improved: The hosts would not budge on check in or check out, the draft coming under the side door behind the fridge was freezing, no toiletries, no coffee tea no salt or pepper and could not find parking anywhere near the accommodation nor could we get out the street in school time just boxes inSuperb – Park from South Korea – 23 February 2025 (9/10)

Superb – Mejia from Australia – 1 March 2024 (9/10)
