You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name actually undersells it. I mean, “Huge Designer Studio” sounds like marketing speak, but honestly – this space on Ridge Street really is massive for Sydney standards, and the design work is legitimately impressive. The moment you walk in, there’s this sense of… well, space, which if you’ve apartment-hunted in Sydney, you’ll know is basically a miracle.

The location is what really makes this work though. Being right next to Anderson Park (that’s the “lovely park” they’re talking about) means you’ve got this unexpected green buffer between you and the city chaos. I actually spent a good chunk of my morning there with coffee – there’s something nice about having real grass and trees right outside instead of just concrete and traffic. The North Sydney thing might throw some people off since it’s not technically “Sydney Sydney,” but honestly, you’re a quick train ride to Circular Quay, and you avoid a lot of the tourist madness while still being connected to everything. The Milsons Point station is about a 10-minute walk, maybe 15 if you’re dragging luggage.

What impressed me most was how they’ve handled the studio layout – it doesn’t feel like they just crammed everything into one room and called it a day. The sleeping area actually feels separate from the living space, which is huge when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two. The kitchen setup is proper too, not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation. I mean, you could actually cook here if you wanted to, though with North Sydney’s food scene right outside (seriously, check out the little Vietnamese place on Miller Street), you might not need to. Parking was surprisingly straightforward – they’ve got a spot included, which in this part of Sydney is worth its weight in gold. The building itself is pretty quiet considering how central it is, though you’ll get some street noise during peak hours since Ridge Street does get busy with commuters.

The whole experience felt more like staying in a friend’s really well-designed apartment than a typical hotel or Airbnb. Check-in was smooth, the WiFi actually worked properly (you’d be surprised how often that’s an issue), and there’s proper blackout curtains if you need to sleep in. The 8.9 rating makes sense to me – it’s not perfect (the shower pressure could be better, and the air conditioning unit is a bit loud), but it delivers on what it promises. If you’re looking for that classic Sydney harbor hotel experience, this isn’t it. But if you want a comfortable, well-located base that feels like you’re living in Sydney rather than just visiting it, this place really works.

  We loved the location! Just unbeatable. We enjoyed walking around the neighbourhood and in the adjacent park. Super close to the Victoria Cross metro stop, which made it a breeze to get public transport to the CBD, saved us a lot in parking. We had nice coffees and breakfast at The Library café close by. The room itself was extremely clean and very private. A great place to relax after a big day of activities in Sydney. This room is great value for money. We will be back soon 🙂

  Location is fabulous. It’s nicely furnished, very comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: A couple of things to be clarified, in the description of the property it says oven but there is only a microwave oven – not full oven (I needed to make a cake for a party). Also the description says ‘bedroom and living room’, there is no bedroom – the queen bed and sofa bed are in the one room (my fault for not looking at all the photos).
