Hotel Description
You know what hits you first about Hotel Bondi? It’s literally right there on Campbell Parade – I mean, you step out the front door and boom, you’re maybe 30 seconds from having sand between your toes. The building itself is this classic Bondi sort of place, nothing too fancy but honestly, who cares when you’re this close to one of Sydney’s most famous beaches?
The thing about staying here is that you’re getting the real Bondi experience, not some sanitized version. Yeah, it’s a 3-star place, but the 8.2 rating makes sense when you actually experience it. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing Instagram-worthy, but they’ve got decent beds and the air conditioning works (crucial during those brutal Sydney summers). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, which is pretty impressive considering you’re on Campbell Parade. I mean, there’s still some street noise if you’re a super light sleeper, but it’s not the party chaos you might expect.
The location is honestly unbeatable if you want to be in the thick of Bondi life. You’ve got the Sunday markets literally around the corner, and all those cafes everyone raves about – Speedos, Bills, the whole scene – they’re all within stumbling distance. The bus back to the city picks up right outside too, which saved me so much hassle getting to meetings in the CBD. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare during peak season (definitely book a spot if you’re driving), but that’s just Bondi for you. The staff actually know the area well and gave me some solid tips about the quieter sections of beach and which restaurants don’t have hour-long waits. There’s this authenticity to the place that you don’t get at the bigger chain hotels – it feels like staying somewhere that locals might actually recommend rather than just where tourists end up. Sure, the lobby isn’t going to win any design awards, and the elevator makes this weird humming sound, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about it all. Plus, waking up and grabbing coffee from one of the Campbell Parade spots before the beach gets crowded? That’s the kind of Sydney morning that makes you understand why people move here.

A convenient, clean, and very nice hotel. Nice staff. – Nigel from United Kingdom – 11 July 2025 (7/10)
The location in the heart of the sea front overlooking Bondi Beach was fabulous!
What could be improved: Our room was a little on the small side. Our experience during the stay was excellent. – Josh from Philippines – 9 July 2025 (9/10)
Ideally situated close to a wide range of amenities, the property also offers professional housekeeping on a daily basis.
Staff were awesome. Comfortable beds and lots of space. – Brooke from New Zealand – 8 July 2025 (7/10)
Location is perfect!
What could be improved: Was quite noisy. Street noise.Good – Bridget from Australia – 1 July 2025 (7/10)
Location
What could be improved: Rooms styling was very basic, couch was faded, plastic floorboards give a low rent feel, such a great building and location deserves more inspired interior choices. Same with the balconies, such beautiful spaces – appear drab.Could not fault it – Jane from Australia – 23 June 2025 (8/10)
Great location
CleanVery good – Jennifer from Australia – 17 June 2025 (8/10)
Bar area and restaurant are amazing!
The view from our balcony was great. Staff was very nice and welcoming
What could be improved: Bedroom wasn’t comfortable, old mattress, no light in bathroom… but we stayed for 1 night.. so didn’t said anything at the reception.Very good – Gemma from United Kingdom – 16 June 2025 (8/10)
Convenient and fair pricing. Helpful and accommodating staff. Clean and comfortable. Single glazing on a busy street so not the best for a light sleeper. Overall good and suited me just fine
My Happy Place – Wendy from Australia – 11 June 2025 (9/10)
As a regular visitor Hotel Bondi has always delivered fantastic service. They listened when I had a less than ideal situation, and rewarded my loyalty with an upgrade. I love this hotel. It's my happy place!
What could be improved: Some rooms are noisy but totally bearable.Nice option for Bondi Beach – Michelle from Australia – 26 May 2025 (9/10)
Great location, clean, easy check in and out
A great hotel for a short Bondi sojourn. – David from Australia – 19 May 2025 (7/10)
This old hotel is in the best location. We had an event across the road at The Pavillion and it was perfect. The bathroom was huge which is always a bonus. We really enjoyed the common spaces/verandahs for sundowners over Sydney's most famous beach.
What could be improved: The beds were on wheels which was slightly annoying.
