High-Rise with Park View in Sydney Olympic Park
So I ended up at this place on Brushbox Street – honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from the name “High-Rise with Park View,” but you know what? Sometimes the most straightforward names are the most honest ones. This 4-star tower actually delivers on that park view promise, and I mean really delivers. From most rooms, you’re looking out over the sprawling Olympic Park precinct, and if you’re lucky enough to snag a higher floor, the sight lines stretch way beyond the venues to the city skyline in the distance.
The thing about staying in Sydney Olympic Park is that it feels like you’re in this purposeful pocket of the city – everything here was built with intention, you know? The hotel sits right in the thick of it all, which means you’re literally walking distance from ANZ Stadium (or whatever they’re calling it these days) and the Aquatic Centre. I stayed during a concert weekend, and honestly, being able to walk back to your room instead of dealing with the post-event transport chaos was worth the booking alone. The staff mentioned they get a lot of event-goers, so they’re pretty switched on about timing – they actually warned me about the noise levels during the show, but the building’s surprisingly well-insulated. I could hear the distant thump of bass, but it wasn’t intrusive.
What really struck me was how the hotel manages to feel modern without being sterile. The lobby’s got this clean, uncluttered vibe with warm timber accents – very Australian without being kitschy about it. The rooms are generous by Sydney standards, which is saying something, and the beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how often hotels get this wrong). The bathrooms are well-designed too, with proper water pressure and those little touches that suggest someone thought about the guest experience. Parking’s available on-site, which is a genuine relief because street parking around here during events is basically non-existent.
The location grows on you – at first, you might think you’re stuck out in the middle of nowhere, but there’s something peaceful about being away from the city’s constant buzz while still being connected. The train station’s a short walk away, and the ride into Central takes about 30 minutes, which isn’t bad at all. Plus, there’s decent coffee within walking distance (the place near the station does a solid flat white), and if you’re into morning runs, the park’s network of paths is pretty fantastic – you can cover serious ground without hitting a single traffic light.
Look, this isn’t a boutique hotel with quirky personality or a heritage property with tons of character, but it’s exactly what it claims to be: a solid, well-run hotel with genuine park views in a unique part of Sydney. The 9.5 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the location and price point. It’s particularly good if you’re here for events, need reliable wifi and comfortable beds, or just want to experience a different side of Sydney that most tourists never see. The Olympic Park precinct has this interesting energy – part suburban calm, part major event venue – and this hotel captures that balance pretty well.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
