Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of Sydney places, but Harbourside7 actually surprised me – and I mean that in the best way. Walking into this McMahons Point unit, the first thing that hits you isn’t the sleek modern setup (though it’s lovely), it’s those harbor views that just sort of steal your breath. I’m talking proper Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House views, not some tiny slice you have to crane your neck to see. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the living area frame it all perfectly, and honestly, I spent way too much time just standing there with my morning coffee.

The unit itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room, which I really appreciated. The bedroom’s got this calming vibe with quality linens – none of that scratchy hotel stuff – and the kitchen is actually functional if you want to grab groceries from the Coles down on Blues Point Road. Speaking of the location, McMahons Point is one of those Sydney spots that locals love but tourists often miss. You’re literally a two-minute walk to the ferry wharf, which means you can be at Circular Quay in about five minutes on the water. No dealing with harbor bridge traffic or hunting for parking in the city – the ferry’s honestly the best way to get around anyway.

What really sold me on this place was the little details that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The Wi-Fi is fast (crucial for work calls), there’s decent water pressure in the shower, and the air conditioning works properly – you’d be surprised how many Sydney rentals mess this up. The building’s pretty quiet too, though you will hear the occasional ferry horn, which I actually found kind of charming. Parking’s included in a secure garage, which in this part of Sydney is worth its weight in gold. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the couch is a bit firm for lounging, but honestly, with those views, you’ll probably be standing at the window most of the time anyway. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels like a proper Sydney experience rather than just a place to sleep, this spot delivers – and that 8.8 rating? Yeah, it’s earned.

    What an amazing location! Loved being so close to the ferry! Loved the views too. Fab welcome pack for breakfast was also a nice touch, and the kitchen was well equipped. Loved the rainbow lorikeets outside too.

    What could be improved: Would have loved it if the sofa bed had been made up for our arrival, and hot water reaching the shower sometimes seemed to take a while,but these are tiny details compared to the overall great time we had!

    How fabulous to have milk, bread, eggs and butter already provided in the fridge for breakfast. The kitchen had a pretty good supply of staples for cooking like salt, oils, spices etc. Also good amount of coffee/tea/sugar.
    I've never stayed in a place with such an amazing view. Loved being able to take the ferry straight across to Circular Quay.
    You can see the Opera House and Bridge from the kitchen and living windows. Reception people are friendly and helpful. Wish I owned this place 🙂

    What could be improved: The pool was under renovation, and we were hoping to use the BBQ area while we stayed. Just bad timing for us.

    The location and view were wonderful. It's a large apartment with comfortable furniture. The kitchen had every appliances and piece of equipment anyone could want to cook a meal. There were supplies available such as oil and vinegar, tea and coffee, salt and pepper etc.

    What could be improved: The hot water system was playing up on the first day which frustrated both the owner and us but happily it settled down on the 2nd day. The owner couldn't have been more responsive and helpful.
