Overview

You know what struck me first about this place? The name is absolutely terrible – Greenwich Luxury near WharfTrainCBD steps to Sea sounds like someone threw keywords into a blender – but honestly, don’t let that put you off because the location is actually spot-on. I mean, you’re literally on King William Street, which is one of those quiet residential streets that feels worlds away from the city chaos, but you can still hear the trains rumbling into Greenwich station just a couple blocks down. It’s this perfect sweet spot where you get that neighborhood feel without being stuck in the middle of nowhere.

The building itself has this solid, understated vibe – none of that flashy hotel lobby nonsense, more like you’re staying in a really nice apartment building that happens to rent rooms. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and the staff actually seemed to know the area well (always a good sign). What really won me over was stepping out in the morning and realizing you’re maybe a seven-minute walk to Greenwich Wharf, where you can catch the ferry straight into Circular Quay. I’d been dreading another trip involving Sydney’s peak-hour trains, but instead I found myself cruising across the harbor with my coffee, watching the Opera House get bigger. The ferry runs pretty regularly too, though it does get packed during rush hour – fair warning if you’re planning to commute.

The rooms are comfortable without trying too hard to impress, which I actually appreciated. Good beds, decent bathrooms, and windows that actually open (surprisingly rare these days). Street noise wasn’t an issue, probably because King William Street doesn’t get much through traffic. You’re also within walking distance of Greenwich Point Reserve, which is this lovely little park right on the water – perfect for morning runs or just sitting with a book. The whole Greenwich area has this unexpectedly village-y feel for being so close to the CBD, lots of cafes and local shops that don’t feel touristy at all. There’s a decent IGA supermarket nearby if you need supplies, and honestly, some of the best coffee I had in Sydney was from a little place called The Grounds of Greenwich – though that’s probably changed since I was there. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be the Four Seasons, but it delivers on the basics really well. If you want to feel like you’re experiencing Sydney as more than just another tourist hitting the obvious spots, this is a solid choice.

"Exceptional"
Luxury spacious rare property set in a beautiful suburb with ample privacy and greenery. Perfect price for the area & the number of guests that stayed at the one property. The bedrooms were spacious, relaxing with soft carpeted areas upstairs and timber floorboards downstairs. Spacious clean bathroom upstairs & convenient bathroom downstairs. Beautiful dining area with 8 comfortable dining chairs. Cosy lounge areas. Kitchen equipped with the necessary tools for you to cook, bake or dine from at home. Ample street parking even though secured parking available on site at the back. We loved the beautiful warm touches and attention to detail for example: hand washing liquid, shower wash, dishwashing liquid, washing powder and so on. Greenwich baths, Woolworths, Coles, Wollstonecraft & St Leonards train staion located a short drive away. Don't forget to bring beach towels. Our hosts were great with answering any questions I had in the lead up to, during & after our stay or with feedback I'd suggested. We highly recommend this property!!!

"Great location but expensive"
The location of the house is beautiful. But less amenities at home for a large family
