You know what? When I first walked into the Easy and Convenient Studio on Kippax Street, I honestly wasn’t expecting much – I mean, the name practically screams “budget accommodation,” right? But this little place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked away in unit 2 of a converted building, and while it might not look like much from the outside, there’s something refreshingly honest about it. The studio setup is smart – they’ve maximized every square inch without making it feel cramped, which is honestly impressive given Sydney’s notorious space constraints.

The location is where this place really shines, though. Kippax Street puts you right in the thick of things without the tourist trap chaos. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Central Station (and I mean five actual minutes, not travel-website-five-minutes), which makes getting anywhere in Sydney ridiculously easy. There’s this great little coffee place around the corner – I think it’s called Bean There – that locals actually go to, not just hotel guests grabbing quick caffeine fixes. The street itself is pretty quiet at night, which was a pleasant surprise since I’d stayed in “central” places before where garbage trucks and late-night revelers made sleep impossible.

What I really appreciated was how functional everything felt. The kitchenette actually works – like, you can legitimately cook a meal, not just heat up instant noodles. The shower has proper water pressure (honestly, this shouldn’t be noteworthy, but you’d be amazed how many places get this wrong), and the bed is comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with a brick. The WiFi is solid too, which matters when you’re trying to figure out your next day’s plans or catch up on work. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards – the décor is pretty basic – but sometimes you just want a clean, comfortable space that doesn’t cost a fortune. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s definitely above your average backpacker spot but not trying to be something fancy it’s not. For the price point in Sydney (which, let’s be honest, can be absolutely brutal), this place delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense.
