Honestly, when I first pulled up to this place on what I’m pretty sure was Cleveland Street (the address just says “2022 Sydney” which is… well, not super helpful), I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. But you know what? Sometimes the best spots are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you from the curb.
The thing about this four-bedroom setup is that it actually feels like a home someone lives in, not one of those sterile vacation rentals where everything’s beige and there’s a laminated list of rules on every surface. The bedrooms are properly sized – I mean, you can actually open a suitcase without having to climb over it to get to the bathroom. And speaking of bathrooms, there’s enough of them that you won’t be doing that awkward morning dance with your travel companions. The kitchen’s got everything you’d actually use (decent coffee maker, thank god), plus there’s a proper dining table where you can spread out maps or just eat cereal without sitting on the bed.
What really sold me on this place, though, is the Centennial Park proximity. I’m talking like a genuine five-minute walk, not that “walking distance” nonsense where you need hiking boots and a packed lunch. You can literally hear the morning joggers and weekend markets from the front windows – which sounds annoying but is actually kind of nice? It’s like having the city’s heartbeat right there without the chaos. The park’s massive, by the way – you’ve got the rose garden, those ponds where people feed ducks, and enough running paths to make you feel guilty about not exercising. Plus, if you’re traveling with kids, there’s this playground that’ll keep them busy for hours.
The neighborhood itself is pretty solid – there’s a decent café about two blocks down that does proper flat whites (not that tourist trap stuff), and I noticed a Woolworths close enough for those inevitable grocery runs. Parking was surprisingly manageable, which anyone who’s driven in Sydney will tell you is basically a miracle. The owner was pretty responsive when I had questions about the Wi-Fi password, and check-in was straightforward – none of that “meet me at a random corner with a briefcase” drama you sometimes get with private rentals.
Look, it’s not going to win any design awards, and the shower pressure in the main bathroom is just okay, but it’s got that lived-in comfort that makes you want to actually hang out there instead of just crashing between tourist activities. The 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s genuinely good without being perfect, and honestly, that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to feel like a local for a few days instead of just another tourist checking boxes.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
