Crows Nest – Executive Penthouse – 3 Bedroom- 5km to City
Look, I’ll be straight with you about the Crows Nest Executive Penthouse – this place surprised me way more than I expected. When I first pulled up to 107 Chandos Street, I was honestly wondering if I’d made the right choice. The building itself is pretty standard from the outside, nothing too flashy, but once you get up to the penthouse level… well, that’s where things get interesting. The space is genuinely massive – three proper bedrooms that actually feel like bedrooms, not those cramped hotel boxes where you’re bumping into furniture. And the views? You can see across to the harbor on a clear day, which happens more often than you’d think in this part of Sydney.
What really sold me on this place was how it sits in the neighborhood. Crows Nest isn’t trying to be trendy like Surry Hills or whatever – it’s just this solid, lived-in area where you can actually find a decent coffee at 7am without waiting behind twenty tourists. There’s this little strip of cafes and shops right along the Pacific Highway that locals use, and honestly, I found myself walking there every morning instead of heading straight into the city. The 5km to the CBD thing is real, by the way – I timed it during morning rush and it was maybe 15 minutes on the train from North Sydney station, which is an easy walk downhill. Just know that coming back up that hill with groceries is… well, it’s a workout. Parking was actually pretty decent too, which anyone who’s dealt with Sydney will tell you is basically a miracle.
The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home, not some sterile corporate rental. The kitchen has proper appliances – I mean, you can actually cook here if you want to, though there are enough good takeaway options nearby that I didn’t bother most nights. The living area is where this place really shines though. It’s got this nice flow to it, big windows that let in tons of light, and enough space that you don’t feel like you’re living on top of each other if you’re sharing with friends or family. I stayed here during a particularly busy week in February, and even with the harbor views and central-ish location, it was surprisingly quiet at night. You get some street noise during the day, but nothing that kept me awake. The whole setup just works – it’s comfortable without being fancy, spacious without feeling empty, and positioned in a way that makes you feel like you’re actually staying in Sydney rather than just visiting it. For what you’re paying, especially compared to what you’d get in a hotel in the city center, it’s honestly a pretty solid choice.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
