Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? The address says Broadway, and I’ll be honest – I was expecting the usual traffic nightmare. But this stretch of Broadway in Chippendale is actually pretty chill, especially compared to the chaos closer to Central Station. The apartment sits in one of those converted warehouse buildings that Chippendale does so well, and there’s something really satisfying about staying somewhere with actual character instead of another glass box.
The “cozy” in the name isn’t just marketing speak – it genuinely feels like someone’s well-loved home rather than a sterile rental. I mean, the kitchen actually has proper cooking equipment (not just a sad hotplate), and the living area has that lived-in comfort that makes you want to sprawl out with a book. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything works properly and the details are thoughtful. That 8.7 rating makes sense too; honestly, the only thing that keeps it from being perfect is the shower pressure, which is decent but not spectacular.
Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where you can walk to White Rabbit Gallery in about ten minutes if you’re into contemporary art, and the cafes along Abercrombie Street are close enough for your morning coffee fix. The neighborhood has this great mix of young families and creative types – you’ll hear kids playing in the courtyard during the day, but it quiets down nicely in the evenings. Parking can be tricky during weekdays (lots of office workers spillover), but weekends are pretty manageable. The real bonus is being walking distance to Sydney Park – I found myself heading there most mornings just because it’s such a massive green space and honestly, who doesn’t need that when you’re staying in the city?
What I really appreciated was how easy the whole experience was. Check-in was straightforward, the wifi actually worked properly for video calls (tested it multiple times), and the washing machine was a lifesaver for a longer stay. The apartment gets great natural light – those big warehouse windows face the right direction, so you wake up naturally instead of in some dark cave. There’s also this nice little balcony area where you can sit with your morning coffee and people-watch, though it’s not huge or anything. The building itself is pretty quiet, maybe because the walls are thick from the original construction, but you’ll still hear the occasional footsteps upstairs – nothing that kept me awake, just real apartment living. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels like home base rather than just a place to crash, and you want to be near the city without being right in the thick of it, this place hits that balance really well.

Superb – Hui-ching from Taiwan – 1 April 2025 (9/10)
It was an old house with complete facilities. The location was great!
What could be improved: We stayed for three days, but only one roll of toilet paper was provided.
There was one flight of stairs, luckily we only had one luggage. The air conditioner is only in the living room, so we must sleep with the door open.Nice stay in a good location – Lucy from Australia – 18 February 2025 (8/10)
Pet friendly. Nice outside area
What could be improved: Should make it clear there are stairs from street level
