Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Coogee Beachside Solace 5? It’s tucked away on Arden Street, which honestly feels like a little secret compared to the main strip everyone gravitates toward. I mean, you’re still literally a two-minute walk from the beach, but there’s something refreshingly quiet about this particular stretch. The building itself has that understated Sydney coastal vibe – not trying too hard to be fancy, but clearly well-maintained. When I checked in, the staff actually remembered my name from the booking confirmation, which sounds small but really set the tone for the whole stay.
The apartment (and that’s what it really feels like, not just a hotel room) has this lived-in comfort that I wasn’t expecting from a 4-star place. The kitchen is properly equipped – I’m talking real knives, decent-sized fridge, even a coffee machine that doesn’t make you want to walk to the nearest café instead. The bedroom gets great morning light, though if you’re sensitive to early sun, you might want to figure out the blackout curtains situation. What I loved most was the balcony view – you can actually see slivers of the ocean between the buildings, and there’s something oddly satisfying about watching the locals do their morning beach walks while you’re having coffee. The whole place has this clean, beachy smell that’s hard to describe but somehow perfect for the location.
Coogee itself is honestly one of those Sydney beaches that feels more like a neighborhood than a tourist destination. You’ve got the RSL club right there if you want cheap drinks and that authentic local experience, plus the coastal walk to Bondi is absolutely worth doing – starts basically at your doorstep. The beach gets busy on weekends (especially during summer), but it’s never quite as chaotic as Bondi. I found myself walking down to the rocks at the southern end most evenings; there’s something therapeutic about watching the waves crash while the city slowly lights up behind you. Parking can be a bit of a mission on sunny days, but the apartment includes a spot, which honestly probably saves you twenty bucks a day and a lot of frustration. The 9.7 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there – it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything just works exactly as it should. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between having your own space and being right in the heart of one of Sydney’s most livable beach suburbs, this place gets it right.

It is a modern apartment which was very well maintained. Household essentials were provided. Location is great for the beach, Coogee centre and public transport.
What could be improved: The apartment is on a busy road, which is quite noisy.Très bel appartement pour un séjour à Sydney original. – Jean-paul from New Caledonia – 22 May 2025 (9/10)
Appartement numéro 5 très confortable, matériel de maison au complet, belle terrasse avec vue dégagée. Assistance à distance professionnelle. L'immeuble est à 300 mètres de la belle plage de Coogee.
