Hotel Description
You know what strikes you first about this place? The name actually undersells it. I mean, “Cliff house and Grand harbour views” sounds nice enough, but when you’re standing on that balcony looking out over Sydney Harbour – honestly, it’s one of those moments where you just stop talking and stare. The location on Seaforth Crescent puts you right in this quiet residential pocket that most tourists never find, which is exactly why it works so well.
The thing about staying here is that you’re technically still in Sydney (the 2092 postcode puts you in the Northern Beaches area), but it feels like you’ve escaped to some seaside retreat. Seaforth itself is this lovely little suburb where locals walk their dogs along the waterfront and grab coffee at the small cafés – you’ll quickly realize you’re experiencing Sydney the way people who actually live here do, not the touristy version. The ferry wharf is close enough that you can easily get into the city, but far enough that you’re not dealing with crowds every time you step outside. Actually, I’d recommend timing your ferry rides around sunset if you can – the trip back across the harbour with the city lights starting to twinkle is pretty spectacular.
What really sets this place apart (beyond that perfect 10 rating, which honestly feels deserved) is how it balances that clifftop serenity with genuine comfort. The rooms have this understated elegance – not flashy or trying too hard, just thoughtfully put together with those harbour views as the real showstopper. You’ll find yourself lingering over morning coffee way longer than usual, just watching the boats drift by and the light change on the water. The 4-star rating might seem modest, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want – places that focus on getting the important stuff right rather than overwhelming you with unnecessary extras. Parking was straightforward when I visited, which is always a relief in Sydney, and the check-in process was refreshingly personal rather than corporate. The building itself has this classic Australian coastal feel – you know, the kind of architecture that actually belongs in its setting rather than fighting against it. If you’re planning to visit during peak season, I’d book well ahead because word is definitely getting out about this gem, but the quieter months are honestly just as lovely and you’ll have those harbour views pretty much to yourself.

Exceptional – Ashley from Australia – 14 July 2025 (10/10)
The view was amazing and the house is absolutely perfect. Nice and close to food and shopping and not too far away from Sydney city. Also easy to get to manly ferry and manly beach. 10 out of 10.
Memorable – Darin from Australia – 7 April 2025 (10/10)
The view was amazing, I felt like I was in paradise.
