Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Chic Large 4 Bedroom” in the name, I was expecting some generic serviced apartment situation. But this place on Kent Street actually surprised me. You’re literally in the heart of everything here, and I mean everything. Step outside and you’ve got the weekend markets at The Rocks just a few minutes’ walk away, plus you’re close enough to Circular Quay that you can smell the harbour on windy days.

The apartment itself is genuinely spacious – not that fake “spacious” you see in most Sydney listings where they count the balcony as living space. Four proper bedrooms means you’re not playing sardines if you’re traveling with family or a group of friends. The kitchen is actually functional too, which matters because honestly, eating out for every meal in Sydney will bankrupt you faster than you’d think. I loved that they’ve kept some of the building’s character while making it feel modern – exposed brick in places, but with proper air conditioning (thank god, because Sydney summers are brutal). The living area has these big windows that let in heaps of natural light, and you know what? The street noise isn’t as bad as you’d expect for Kent Street. Sure, you’ll hear the occasional siren or late-night reveler, but it’s not the constant traffic drone you get in some CBD spots.

What really works about this location is that you’re in Barangaroo territory – that whole area has transformed completely over the past few years. You’ve got Crown Sydney looming nearby if you’re into that scene, but more importantly, you’re walking distance to some genuinely good coffee spots that haven’t been completely touristified yet. The building itself feels secure (important when you’re dragging luggage around), and check-in was surprisingly smooth for what’s essentially a private apartment setup. Parking is… well, it’s Sydney CBD, so manage your expectations. But honestly, you probably won’t need a car much from here anyway. The trains at Wynyard are close enough, and if you’re planning to do the typical Sydney tourist thing – Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Darling Harbour – you can walk to most of it or grab a quick ferry ride. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was splitting costs with friends. The 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be the Park Hyatt, but for what it is, it delivers.
