Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of Sydney apartments, and honestly? Camperdown Cozy Corner 7 surprised me in the best way possible. When I first pulled up to 304/22-33 Missenden Road, I’ll admit I was skeptical – the building looks pretty standard from the outside, nothing fancy. But you know what they say about judging books by their covers.

The moment I stepped inside, it hit me how thoughtfully this place is put together. The apartment actually feels like someone’s home, not some sterile hotel room where everything’s bolted down. There’s this warm, lived-in quality that makes you want to kick off your shoes and settle in for the week. The kitchen – and I mean a proper kitchen, not one of those joke setups with a mini-fridge – has everything you need if you’re planning to cook. Which, by the way, you might want to do because the Harris Farm Markets on Parramatta Road is just a quick walk away, and their produce section is incredible.

What really won me over was the location, though I know Camperdown isn’t exactly where most tourists think to stay. Here’s the thing – you’re perfectly positioned between the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital area and Sydney Uni, which means the neighborhood has this great mix of medical professionals, students, and locals who’ve been here forever. It’s properly residential, so you won’t have drunk backpackers stumbling around at 3 AM (been there, dealt with that). The 370 bus literally stops right outside and gets you to the city in about 15 minutes, or you can walk to Newtown in maybe 20 minutes if you’re feeling energetic. I actually preferred walking because you get to see all these beautiful terraces and that lovely stretch near the cemetery – sounds weird, I know, but it’s actually quite peaceful.

The apartment itself sleeps comfortably, and the bed is proper comfortable, not one of those rock-hard mattresses some places think pass for furniture. There’s decent storage space, which matters when you’re staying more than a couple nights. The bathroom’s modern and the water pressure is excellent – honestly, after a long day walking around Sydney, that shower hits differently. One small thing that impressed me was how quiet it stays at night, considering you’re on Missenden Road. The windows do their job, and the neighborhood settles down nicely after about 9 PM.

Parking was easier than I expected, though I’d still recommend checking with them about spots if you’re driving. The whole check-in process was smooth – none of that awkward waiting around in a lobby situation. I mean, there’s something refreshing about having your own space without hotel staff hovering around, but still knowing someone’s available if you need anything.

The 9.5 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s not trying to be the Four Seasons, but for what it is – a genuinely comfortable, well-located base for exploring Sydney – it absolutely delivers. Perfect for couples or small families who want to experience Sydney like locals rather than tourists bouncing between Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. Trust me, your wallet will thank you, and you’ll probably end up loving this little corner of inner Sydney more than you expected.
