You know what struck me first about this Burwood apartment? It’s actually in one of those quiet residential pockets that locals know about but tourists somehow miss. The building on Elizabeth Street sits back from the main road just enough that you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise, but honestly, you’re still close enough to everything that matters.

The two-bedroom setup works really well if you’re traveling with family or friends – I mean, it’s not huge, but it’s thoughtfully laid out in that way that makes you think someone actually lives in places like this, not just designed them for short stays. The kitchen has proper counter space (thank god), and the living area gets this nice afternoon light that makes the whole place feel bigger than it probably is. What I loved most was how the owners clearly know the area – there were these little touches like local café recommendations stuck to the fridge and actual good coffee in the cupboard, not those terrible instant packets you usually find.

The train situation is honestly the real selling point here. Burwood station is maybe a seven-minute walk, and once you’re on that T1 line, you’re in the city in about twenty minutes. I’ve stayed in places that claim to be “near transport” and then you’re schlepping fifteen minutes with luggage – this isn’t that. Plus, if you’re driving, there’s actually decent parking around the neighborhood, which anyone who’s tried to park in Sydney will tell you is basically a miracle. The shopping center is right there too, so you can grab groceries or whatever without it being a whole expedition. During the week it gets busy with the usual office crowd, but weekends are pretty chill – you get that nice residential vibe where people are walking dogs and kids are playing in the small park down the street. The only thing I’d mention is that the walls aren’t super thick, so if you’re a light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs just in case you get neighbors who don’t know what “inside voice” means. But honestly, that’s pretty standard for apartment buildings here, and it wasn’t a real problem during my stay. The whole Burwood area has this interesting mix of young families and older residents who’ve been there forever, which gives it more character than some of the more touristy neighborhoods.
