Boutique Apartment With Private Roof Terrace
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment you step through that unassuming door on High Street, you’re suddenly in this incredibly chic space that feels nothing like the busy CBD chaos just outside. I mean, 60A High Street puts you right in the thick of everything – you’re literally a two-minute walk from Circular Quay and maybe five minutes from the Opera House – but somehow this boutique apartment manages to feel like a peaceful retreat.
The private roof terrace is honestly the star of the show here. I spent way too much of my morning up there with coffee, looking out over the harbor glimpses between buildings and watching the city wake up. It’s not a massive space, but it’s thoughtfully set up with decent outdoor furniture and some greenery that actually looks healthy (you’d be surprised how rare that is in city accommodations). The apartment itself has this modern, minimalist thing going on without feeling cold – think clean lines but with warm wood accents and really good lighting. The kitchen is actually functional, not just for show, which I appreciated since grabbing breakfast in the CBD can get pricey fast. Check-in was smooth, though you’ll want to pay attention to the instructions since it’s not immediately obvious which entrance to use from the street.
What I really love about the location is how walkable everything is, but in a smart way. You’re close enough to Martin Place that you can hit up the good coffee spots (there’s this excellent little place called Grounds of the City just around the corner), but far enough from the weekend party areas that you’ll actually sleep through the night. The building itself is pretty quiet – I was worried about street noise being right on High Street, but the windows do their job well. Parking is… well, it’s the CBD, so don’t expect miracles, but there are a couple of decent parking garages within a few blocks if you’re driving. Honestly though, you probably won’t need a car much since you can walk to Wynyard Station in about seven minutes, and the ferry wharf is right there if you want to explore other parts of the harbor. The whole setup just works – it’s one of those places where you can see why it’s got such a high rating, because someone clearly thought through what travelers actually need versus what just looks good in photos.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
