You know what hit me first about Bondi Junction Bellissima? The lift ride up to the eighth floor – honestly, I was a bit nervous about staying in what’s essentially a residential building, but once those doors opened at 802, I got it. This place sits right on Oxford Street, which sounds hectic until you realize you’re high enough that the street noise becomes this gentle Sydney hum rather than actual traffic chaos.
The apartment itself is properly spacious, and I mean actually spacious – not that “cozy” nonsense you usually get in Sydney accommodation. Walking around Bondi Junction, you start to appreciate how clever this location really is. Sure, everyone thinks Bondi and pictures the beach (which is absolutely doable from here), but being in the Junction means you’re basically at Sydney’s eastern transport hub. The trains, buses, that massive Westfield if you need anything – it’s all right there. I found myself walking to the beach some mornings via the Bondi Road, which takes about 20 minutes if you’re not in a rush, or you can just hop on the bus. What I really loved was ducking into those little cafes along Oxford Street for proper coffee – there’s this spot just down from the building where the barista actually remembers your order after two visits.
The apartment feels like someone actually lives there, which I suppose makes sense given the building setup. The kitchen’s properly equipped (I mean, you can actually cook if you want to), and the bathroom’s got that rainfall shower head that makes you want to stay in longer than you should. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that hovering-around-a-desk-at-3pm business. The 9.5 rating honestly doesn’t surprise me because it’s those little things that add up: decent wifi that doesn’t drop out, blackout curtains that actually work, and – this might sound silly – but the bed’s at the right height. You know how some hotel beds are either too high or too low? This one’s just right. The only minor thing I’d mention is that Oxford Street can get pretty lively on weekend nights, but again, eighth floor means it’s more background buzz than actual disturbance. If you’re someone who needs complete silence, maybe pack earplugs just in case, but honestly, it didn’t bother me at all. I actually found it kind of comforting – that whole “pulse of the city” thing without being in the thick of it.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
