Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Sydney, and Bondi Cottage on Glasgow Avenue is honestly one of those finds that makes you want to keep it secret. It’s tucked away just far enough from the main Campbell Parade chaos that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds stumbling past your window at 2am, but close enough that you can actually walk to the beach without breaking a sweat – which, let’s be real, is harder to find than you’d think in Bondi.

The cottage itself has this really genuine charm that doesn’t feel forced or Instagram-manufactured. You know what I mean? The kind of place where the floorboards creak just right and there’s actual character in the walls, not just exposed brick slapped up for aesthetics. The rooms feel like someone’s thoughtfully renovated home rather than a cookie-cutter hotel setup. I particularly loved how quiet it gets at night – Glasgow Avenue doesn’t get the through-traffic that some of the other streets closer to the junction do, so you can actually sleep with the windows open and just hear the distant sound of waves. The owners clearly know their stuff too; check-in was smooth, they had local recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps, and honestly seemed to care about whether you had a good stay.

What really sold me though was the little details that show someone’s actually thinking about what travelers need. The kitchen setup is proper – not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation – so you can grab fresh stuff from the Bondi markets on Saturday morning and actually do something with it. Parking’s sorted (and if you’ve tried to park in Bondi during summer, you’ll know this is basically worth its weight in gold). The whole place just feels… well, it feels like staying at a mate’s place who happens to have excellent taste and lives in one of the best spots in Sydney. That 9.5 rating isn’t just random internet enthusiasm – it’s earned. I mean, I’m already planning to book it again for when my sister visits next year, which probably tells you everything you need to know.

  The Bondi Cottage was absolutely outstanding. The property is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. It had all the amenities necessary for an enjoyable stay. Location was superb, minutes walk to the iconic Bondi Beach, and the best cafes, boutiques and restaurants you can imagine. The host was extremely accommodating and helpful, and the check in was seamless. I highly recommend Bondi Cottage, and I will definately be returning on my next trip to Bondi!

  The location is perfect! Walking distance to iconic Bondi Beach, the weekend markets and all the fantastic restaurants. The house was immaculately clean, with plenty of space for our family. The beds were so comfy and we loved the styling and artworks.
