Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places along Sydney’s coast, but this little spot on Clovelly Road actually gets it right. You know how most “beachside” accommodations are either overpriced tourist traps or sketchy backpacker joints? Well, this one hits that sweet spot – it’s got character without being pretentious, and honestly, the location is pretty much perfect if you want to escape the Bondi circus.

The parking situation alone makes this place worth considering. I mean, if you’ve ever tried to find a spot near any Sydney beach on a weekend, you’ll appreciate having your own space just steps from the door. And when they say 50 meters to the beach, they’re not exaggerating – it’s literally a one-minute walk down to Clovelly Bay, which (side note) is one of those protected little coves that locals love because it’s calm enough for kids but still feels like proper ocean swimming. The snorkeling’s decent too, especially around the rocks on the southern end. The accommodation itself feels like someone’s well-loved beach house rather than a sterile hotel room. There’s this lived-in comfort that you get when a place has been thoughtfully set up by people who actually understand what travelers need – proper kitchen facilities, decent WiFi that works even when half of Sydney’s trying to upload their beach photos, and enough space to spread out after a day in the sun. The rating speaks for itself really, but what I appreciated most was the attention to those little things that make a difference when you’re trying to relax. Good shower pressure (crucial after sandy beach days), blackout curtains that actually work, and a setup that doesn’t make you feel like you’re living on top of your travel companions.

What really sold me on this area though – and this is something you only figure out after staying here – is how connected you are to the best parts of Sydney’s eastern beaches without the hassle. You can walk to Clovelly Beach in under a minute, sure, but you’re also perfectly positioned to explore the coastal walk that connects all the way through to Maroubra. Gordon’s Bay is practically next door if you want some of the best shore diving in Sydney, and the bus connections along Clovelly Road mean you can easily hit Bondi or Coogee when you want that busier beach vibe. The neighborhood itself has this quietly residential feel – you’ll hear the ocean at night instead of traffic, which is honestly rare this close to the city. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was bringing family or friends who wanted that authentic Sydney beach experience without paying CBD prices or dealing with the backpacker scene.

  We loved everything! So bright and airy, we loved having the windows open and the sea breeze coming through the apartment.
  The styling is so lovely, my daughters loved the prints in the second bedroom.
  Very comfortable and the location is 10/10.
  
  What could be improved: The onsite parking is a very narrow garage, perfect for a smaller car but didn’t suit us. Not a big deal though as we did find parking on the street and we felt very safe leaving the car there.
